I just read a thread on here from 2011 stating that if you send it back they send you a new gun not the one you send it. That be BS to just take these oldies out of circulation.

Probably my frickin thread. I once sent 4 back at a time to get repaired. I received 3 repaired rifles, and one new one back within 2 months. They couldn't fix one, so they gave me a new one.

Would really need a price range and open sight vs scoped preference before answering.

I sorta understand why some people want to shoot snakes because they are scared of them.

Why shoot turtles?

I got this one a little while ago on amazon for 170$ for squirrels and whatever else comes in my yard. I've been impressed with the accuracy. The scope it comes with could be better but it gets the job done.

I have the .22 Nitro Venom Dusk (the black one) and I concur. Although, I bought mine for $130. I've killed a crap load of raccoons and opossum with it. It packs a punch. The only thing I don't like about it is the long trigger pull. I recently got the Hatsan 125 sniper vortex. It's consistently more accurate, noticeably more powerful, and the trigger is a thousand times better. However, it's slightly heavier. And costs close to $300.

Which one would you get?

I use the good old .22LR when I'm feeling nice towards the snakes. When I'm not, I use the 5.56. I like seeing snakes fly.

Rws 34 or even better a Weihrauch 95. 22cal. Go to Arizona air guns on web. Outstanding accuracy, lifetime warranties. And don't get a cheap scope as they will shake them loose. Try a Vortex Diamondback. Lifetime setup.

as been said, rebuild the Bengi. You will pay firearm money to buy another airgun with the quality of the benjamin.

I got a Gamo silver shadow (break barrel) years ago (came with cheap BSA scope) and sent to some guy in Carolina. This guy "tuned it", meaning he changed spring, trigger, seals, and other things. He sent it back with actual test charts showing lead 0.177 pellets > 1,000 fps. I kill squirrels, doves, etc. at about 40 yds. Very accurate and lethal. The total cost was < $200.

Know that spring-operated air rifles are very hard on scopes. I had my old Gamo Shadow run through about 3, and they weren't BSA trash or anything.

Box turtles are declining everywhere. It is beyond stupid to want to shoot them.

I'd get low velocity .22lr ammo, maybe some CBs

let me know when you can find these around BR. I've been looking for a while and all I can find is subsonic rounds. Hardly quiet compared to a CB.
