Sounds typical to me. Most folks are jealous children when it comes to hunting and what hunting’s become.

That’s a fine buck, I recall when you first posted the pic.

In person, I’d call the guy a immature pussy and tell him running you off won’t bring that deer back. And follow up by texting/emailing him a pic of that dead mother fkr every week.

Find a pic of a scrub buck and tell em that's what you killed. You done pissed off everybody plus the deceased that have been hunting that buck.

Club did buck management and so one of the rules is each buck was to be scored by 2 members to be recorded in the log book. Also, I would not have been able to get 220 lbs on the 4 wheeler by myself, so I had to wake someone up.

The funny thing is that I wasn't going to hunt that stand that morning because other members wanted a shot. I was the only one to wake up that morning to hunt in the 22 degree temps. So I changed my mind and when to that stand. BOOM!

that looks better than a shoulder mount IMO. I wouldn't want to be in that club anymore with folks acting like that.

Did you shoot him crossing a river/ creek? The gravel/sand in that pic of him laying looks familiar. I used to hammer the deer like that. Found a spot where a big tree had fallen across the creek bed and the deer would cross like crazy up against it. Smoked 4 or 5 in a season just sitting on the bank waiting. Once the tree washed away the deer quit crossing there.

He is just saying when you shoot a good deer, don't tell the other members. Keep it to yourself.

I see nothing wrong with what you did, sounds like its a blessing your getting out. Count your blessings for anything you have killed there, especially the biggest deer in the clubs history.

Find another lease or guys you know or go to church with, maybe things will be better.

That's a good looking Euro mount.

I will not shoulder mount another deer unless it is truly record book gigantic. They take up too much space and eventually deteriorate.

That's my problem with them too. They start getting dusty and crappy looking after a while.

I had to store two of mine temporarily in one of my attics. Rats ruined them.

Yep. I have a couple with unique (for where we hunt) two white patches on the throat, and that is cool. But otherwise they just gather dust and start looking dull after a while.

I think I remember the IST when you shot tbat buck tbats a fine buck. Congrats on getting kicked out, I never got kicked out but had some rules changed because of me when I was a teen.
Most clubs just want your money and for you to hunt 2-3days and will even tolerate you ahooting a small buck. But if you shoot a big Buck “their buck” then you challenge their manhood and kick you out. I wouldn’t want to hunt with them anyway.
If challenging them to a duel on that very sandbar is out the question then I would write out a one to two page letter displaying my feelings towards them and the inadequacy of their Peepee parts to allow a member in good standing get kicked out for shooting a deer that they would have all shot.

I had a similar thing happen to me.Guy I hunted and fished with and got along well with took me to his hunting club and I killed a nice 11 point(not a nice as yours). He started acting all pissy about it even though he had killed several nicer than mine.He said something about there had been a spike hanging around that food plot and that’s what he wanted me to kill.He didn’t tell me that beforehand.
I quit hunting and fishing with him.

The rules stipulated that it had to have 2 of the criteria (14 inch spread, 16 inch main beam and 4 on one side) and if it didn't have at least 2 it was a $500 fine. SO of course I shot this one so that there was no doubt.

We had a club that was a friend of mines. I joined and hunted for years not shooting anything significant. We had no rules as far as racks size or score. We could take anyone, just check with stands with all guys before you hunted it.

I brought a work buddy, long story short, he shot the monster in a stand I had been hunting. I congratulated him, secretly jealous of course. No hard feeling and if any members had any I never found out. Hunted there for many more years until I couldn’t afford it.

I honestly prefer the euro to a shoulder. I euro mounted a 163” I shot a couple years ago and got a bunch of shite for it.

See, this is what I do not understand what damn business it is of anyone else. It's not like they are ever going to see it again.

My family had a camp built in 1980 near Union Church MS. I started hunting as a kid in late 80’s until 2015 when the family sold it. The hunting club in 1980 nearby was started by locals and my pow pow. Locals hated we owned land and really hated when we would kill deer. They broke into our camps after we would head home on sundays, allegedly, and would each kill 10 or more deer per season. Some members were tolerant of us but the actual locals acted like we stole land and deer from them
