Been staying on the island all week.

Struggled to put together decent boxes at Grand Isle and Elmers earlier in the week. Started heading to Fourchon and have been getting decent boxes of fish. Not limiting out but decent boxes considering I have been having my kids with me every day.

Been fishing the rocks on the inside West side of Belle pass and doing well all week. They have added rocks to the Western side almost the complete length of the pass.

Slept in today and went out at lunch to catch the falling tide. Left them biting around 4:30 because kids were not feeling good and ready to go. Today hammered them on the beach side of the rocks (Eastern side). They wanted hard swim baits. Lost some lures as mackerel were mixed in but the big females were there so we just kept tying on lures. Left with 32 hammers and they were still biting but I don't want to force the family and ruin a good experience for them. Also released a monster 38 inch bull red.

We are heading home tomorrow.

Oh and here is a pic of 2 trout my wife caught on 1 bait at the same time.

I hit Belle pass yesterday morning for daylight with only 1 other family member and we boated a mix box of 18 specs and 21 white trout by lunch time. White trout in the morning and the specs after the tide switched.

Funny thing is we were the only boat in sight and some dude in an Epic boat pulled up on my hip pocket while we were fighting the redfish then we went back to busting the trout up. Don't think he could figure out how to catch them though. Not sure what kinda of lures he was throwing. I think it was soft plastics.

Yesterday we pulled up to find another boat already anchored on a point I wanted to fish. No prob, I gave him space and anchored around the corner from the point and went to work. Started catching again on hard swim baits. The guy on the point was mostly striking out and never even looked like he tried to change up his lure which were popping corks.

We just got back to camp, fished the barges 2 reds, 60+ trout , haven't officially counted them all yet. Had some good size to them also. Water outfront looked good, we went inside this morning and eveything inside looked like chocolate milk. Didnt fish Elmers, West wind but front side was pretty calm.

The marine forecast is different every time I look at it for tomorrow. I guess it's a crapshoot.

I'm headed down Friday. This past Sunday the water was the prettiest I've ever seen it on GI. I could see the bottom from about waist down. The blue fish were tearing up my tackle so I switched over to catching crabs as they were everywhere. I'll be checking back here for an update.
