So right there, no more than 8 fish are allowed to leave the lake in this guy's boat. 8 fish is hardly a record stringer.

you're making a pile of assumptions and looking like a fool in the process. You really a doc?

I know that, but it sure wasn't specified in the original post about the catch and then captfuktard said that the boat can have no more than 8 fish in it.

Man there are some ruffled jimmies in this thread. If it's legal, go for it. If it needs to be regulated more than that, talk to the DW&F.

Me personally I probably wouldn't keep anything bigger than about 3-3.5#, but hey it's a free country. Plus I don't catch many fish over that size.

I have no issues as long as the limits were obeyed.

I'll even apologize and admit my mistake if 'ol baw's bro kept his 8 and went home.

But that sure is one hell of a 'look at my dick' post for 8 fish.

I'll keep a bass or two every now and then. But, ever since that article naming Toledo Bend as the #1 bass lake in America, the lake has been overrun with idiots catching and keeping everything that moves! It won't be long until the Bend is ruined. That article, and the heavy promotion of the trophy program has brought way too much unneeded attention to the Bend all for the sake of profit.

This is my view also. But I understand if I post controversial chit on the interweb there's gonna be some controversy. I also understand it don't matter whether you're wrong or right, if popular opinion is against you there could be backlash.

Sometimes we don't catch our limit in 1-2 pound fish with a 14" limit.
The lake was way high and fish were harder to catch.
Considering it's been months since I been to Toledo I'm a little less choosy when it comes to 3 pound fish...

I'm not here looking for approval, just posting fishing info.

Believe me, nothing I said in response to your post wast meant to be judgmental.

For me, the meat starts to taste different at a different size than the one you mentioned. That's all I was referencing.

If you're following the rules, I've got no qualms whatsoever.

I may keep some 3# and under. Like you said, I think the taste does suffer a bit the bigger the fish...just like reds.

Once I caught a 7# from my yak in front some bucket fisherman. You should have seen their faces when I put her back in the water.

There is no doubt in my mind that D'Arbonne has been hurt because of over fishing when the lake is drawn down.

I know and they are drawing it down again this yr in September.

When I was a kid we used to kill big ducks up the D'arbonne finger (way up the creek) but they stopped coming when they started that drawing the lake down crap

Caught a 3lb bass while fishing for black drum down in Hopedale. Kept it, figured in brackish water like that if I don't eat it something else will.
