Does your attitude change when you're carrying?

I guess two questions.

1. Did your attitude change about situations once you started carrying vs. before you legally carried?

2. Do you have a different attitude about situations if you're not carrying (for whatever reason)?

No, been carrying for over 40 years. Just thankful I never had to pull or use.

I don't ever let my guard down if that's what you're asking.

I don't think my attitude has changed. I started out very self conscious about having it, thinking someone would make it out. I have since come to believe that 95% or more of the population around you is oblivious and are not concerned with anything going on around them.

No attitude change towards situations nor did I approach any differently. I did however notice a significant confidence change as far as myself and my families safety went. It gave me a feeling that if something were to happen I didn't have to rely on response time or others to step in.

I am much quieter when I have something on me. I am more aware of whats around me and how to remove myself from a bad situation.

If you are more bold when carrying you are missing the point.

I've never been a confrontational person so I didn't have to adjust much. I do know plenty of people who were humbled when they started carrying. The amount of responsibility you feel when carrying can be a shock at first and really bring you back down to Earth.

I live in condition yellow now (aware of surroundings) when before I was in condition white (minimal/no situational awareness). I've only been in condition orange a couple times (potential threat unfolding) but have never had to draw or posture.

When I'm not armed, it does make me feel a bit naked.

My gun is my lifeline and I've learned that in this life, YOU are the only person you can count on. If you rely on other people, you will be let down 99% of the time.

Words of wisdom.

Pow pow has one and is always talking about how it's his favorite. He has more handguns, compact and full size, than I can count and that's his edc.

I definitely have a higher sense of awareness when I'm carrying. Not sure why. I feel oblivious to a lot of stuff around me when I'm not. I probably need to work on that.

To be honest I've got a smartass connotation to me normally. Don't mind messing with people in a joking manner for the most part. But when I carry I cut all of that out. Just try to be nice and out of people's way. Would hate to instigate something and then find myself in a situation that I had a knife in my face over it. Get cut or get sued. I just relax more when I'm carrying.

Mine absolutely changes when I do. I don't carry all of the time though, just when there is a chance I'll need it. It is always in the back of my mind that it's right behind me, and I check my shirt tail a lot

Maybe it's just growing up, maybe it's a combination of that and placing less faith in strangers, but I'm far less confrontational now than I used to be.

I don't want to shoot anyone and I don't want to get shot. If I ever have to use it, I don't want it to be in a situation I could have avoided by just keeping a cooler head.

Yes.

I am a much more patient driver. I'm a lot less apt to do anything to escalate, simply b/c I have a weapon in the vehicle.

I still might brakecheck a fricker, though.
