LA Sales Tax question on New Car - Grassy1
It seems like I heard that LA was changing the law so that you have to pay sales tax on the total sales amount, even the value of your trade-in. True? Has it taken effect yet?...

Thanks for all the suggestions. Line-up is set, and no charge for students. 2 very successful engineers sharing a spot, the president of a technical college, and a great film producer. This is the variety we plan to have at our monthly presentations. If you have or know of a high school ...

re: Let's be realistic for a moment... - Grassy1
The bigger point you are missing though is that there is no question a low flat tax rate would be immensely helpful to economic growth. That should be the real goal because economic growth is the best way to raise revenue and reduce expenses, it is also by far the least painful. Let everyone ...
speakers for hi school
Mr. Smith, if you're implying that I don't know the difference between hi and high, you're incorrect. Perhaps I was trying to save a little digital space in a finite line for a title, yet get the point across. But thanks for your help, all the same, sir...

re: Ideas for "Career" speakers for hi school students in the BR area? Update Pg 3 - Grassy1
I'll add that when you actually speak to a room full of kids, especially about careers they don't understand, be careful how you phrase things. Try to be basic and add factoids that will capture their interest. For example: I am a specification analyst for a manufacturing engineering team ...

re: Ideas for "Career" speakers for hi school students in the BR area? Update Pg 3 - Grassy1
Will they each take turns speaking....if so that seems like a snooze fest for the students. If you set it up as a job fair you can allow the students to mingle and have interaction with the "guests". Which should make it more interesting for the students.
You absolutely may be r...
