Sometimes a truck needs a little assistance!

Have a buddy that will wear the tread off the back tires of any truck he uses to pull out at the launch. He's no longer allowed to drive mine as a result. Drops it in drive and punches it

A public launch on a weekend isn't a learning time, you can do this in an empty parking lot with cones.

we have no need for the front hook, just trim and keep in gear until you hear it screaming......we hook up about a mile down the road

You should have seen manchac launch with the poker run going on. 2 huge slips with tons of room, and morons blocking both launches putting sunscreen on waiting for whoever backed the boat in to make the walk to the boat. Luckily, I had a buddy who backed me in and just went in between everyone. I told one guy sitting on a party barge the least he could do was go to the end of the dock and get the thing parallel so people could still back in. There would have been no way for me to put in by myself. I've decided to start using the launch across the street and bypass the no wake zone and the morons driving the cigarette boats taking up the whole channel.

Fing this. It really is a case study in human stupidity and ill manners.

The non swimmers did this at sweetwater on Sunday. Dude at the launch kept asking them to move it. Damn near put a prop on em in my attempt to scare them over.

No one is going to do that. People just want to get out and fish, so they learn as they go. Let's be practical.

Had 2 guys recently blocking the launch after picking the boat up dicking with shite. The poor woman in the truck was flipping out seeing me eyeballing her and them. SHE finally got out and said something to them, asshats.

I have a small SUV and a 16 foot boat I can drop in from 90 degrees if needed. I usually get the guy that is "just running his motor" parked dead center on the ramp.

Funniest story I know the person in. My cousin was going with his dad in his dad's new boat. For some reason, they launch the boat with my cousin holding the bow line on the dock while my uncle drives the truck. My uncle hits the brakes and the boat slides off oretty fast. My cousin realizes that if he holds on to the rope, the boat will turn and hit another boat in the launch so he freaks and lets go of the rope and it floats into the bayou. My uncle is parking the trailer nad has no clue. My 35 year old cousin has to swim to get the boat, but doesnt have the keys, so he somehow gets the boat back to the dock by the bow rope. My uncle gets bavk ready to go and my cousin is stamding on the dock soaked head to toe. My uncle is like WTF happened to you i would have pissed myself if I walked up to him like that.

He probably did a decent thing preventing two nice bay boats from getting dinged up, and they should have launched more intelligently, but its still funny.

No one has brought up guys launching/picking up with their headlights on. That really gets the early birds riled.

Nothing makes me more angry than headlights on launching boats. Venice marina is the worst with that.

Man, I sure miss the old boat host at Delta marina. You would be in and out within 2 minutes.

More of a duck hunting ramp etiquette peeve is leaving your front headlights on while launching your boat before daylight.

Reading this thread makes me glad my brother has a camp at Falgout Canal
No worries- just walk downstairs and step onto the Pathfinder and you're on your way. No parking problems either.
