East Pearl Hwy 90 launch. Must have been a redfish tourney of some kind and we pull up to go bass fishing right near weigh in. No big deal it will just take a while bc of the large amount of boats. Big dude with a F250 and center console with stickers all over everything trailers his boat and pulls up about 15 feet. Decides he parking there and going to weigh in his fish. Looks at us like we are crazy bc we were next in line for that side of the launch. I do not understand how anybody can think that's okay.

My dad had me backing in the boat everyday to go fishing after he got off work at the local launch. I was around 13 and eventually it became second nature. There wasn't anyone else at the launch hardly, so it really didn't matter if I took a while.

Backing a boat is so easy, even my wife can do it.

Sounds like the catch phrase of a commercial.

Tried to tell a kid at a launch who looked to be struggling pretty bad at backing in, about putting his "steering hand" at the bottom of the wheel and how to use his mirrors.

I got the WTF? look and he continued to try it his way. Took up both lanes to launch a 16' skiff.

people need to learn launch parking etiquette just as much as the actual launching.

I really don't like the mirror method for people who are bad at it. Looking over the shoulder seems to be easier to pick up. JMO, YMMV.

Everyone should learn both ways IMO, Pops had a damn obstacle course laid out in the yard when I was learning. Taped trash bags over the back glass so I had to use the mirrors. Once I got that down, he let me look over my shoulder. I still do both, just depends on the situation.

It's best when your at a single truck launch and the guy backing down in front of you has rollers on his trailer. Then it falls of backing down the ramp.

I'm amazed no one walked over and gave them shite about blocking the ramp.

They would be in a different scenario at the Belle River public launch on the spillway side.
