I've been wanting to do this for a while as a getaway from the stress of work. I hunt a lot but I haven't been fishing in years. I'm looking to spend a couple of days on the water and I really don't care what I'm fishing for as long as I can have decent catch. I prefer to just show up and leave and not have to worry with gear. I live in north Ms and prefer an 8hr or less drive. Any suggestions.

it will soon be time for the white perch to bite...you need to try to find someone to take you on enid lake or grenada lake...

also, I have heard that someone guides bank fishing for monster catfish somewhere around greenville...I would like to try that out...

Lake Fork. Lots of good guides to choose from. Jason Hoffman is the one I use.

I'm partial to trout, some good areas around the smokies or do a float trip in northeast Tennessee.

I've only been on one guided trip on Toledo, a long time ago, and I wouldn't recommend that guy. We caught fish but he was a dick. I'm sure there are some good guides down there though.

I'll ask BIL what's the name of the guy, we're going to Sam Rayburn next month. He went 2 weeks ago and wore out the sacs and caught a few nice bass.

There are lots of great options on the white river in Arkansas where you can go with a guide, rent a boat, or just fish in front of your cabin

Go to toledo bend. Something is always biting. I've fished with Greg Crafts on the texas side quite a few times. Really nice guy. Worst case scenario he can bring you out to catch a couple hundred white bass if weather isn't cooperating.

Catching the hell out of white bass is something I have done in the past, it's fun as hell.
