That is what I was thinking it was, but wasn't sure. I have a little trouble at times figuring out what you LSU folks say, but I usually get it after a little thought.

If you have trouble sometimes, then I really struggle.

In Spring of 2008, there was one nesting on Caney Lake in a tall pine tree right at as you enter into Boggy. We saw it every time we went fishing that spring. Multiple times we saw it carry a fish back to the nest. But the coolest instance was one day me and a buddy were sight fishing and really focused on a fish. We heard something and turned around. It was the eagle dropping down, and grabbing about a 3 pound bass off of a bed, about 40 yards from us.

There are quite a few around D'Arbonne refuge this year. I've been seeing them every time I go out there since this summer. I've gotten several pics of them flying. None of the pictures are really any good, but you can verify it is a bald eagle from the pics. I got a bunch of pics of one on 12/12.

I've seen quite a few in the last few years. Fishing Belle River, Verrett, the Spillway, and Gibson.

I also see the one at the 310 - I 10 interchange sometimes.

They are badass creatures.

Juveniles are pretty ugly, and don't fly with the grace adults do. They are about 20% larger as well. Up to about 3 years of age.

The only 2 nests I know of along highways are 310/10 and Prospect Rd. in Houma

Mandalay NWR has hundreds every year and we see a lot in Lake Boeuf and I've seen some in Wax Lake outlet

We had this discussion after over the weekend after seeing the bird.

What do you think Eagle would taste like. It eats meat and fish, so I'm guessing it would be a red meat that taste like pork.

Probably not good at all. Their diet is a mix between a diving duck and a buzzard

Most commonly, I hear they taste like Brown Pelican

How common are they in Louisiana?

I hunt below Terrebonne parish and go down the Atchafalaya to get to my lease. During duck season, I see them almost every trip down the river. It is very common to see them down along the coast. Occasionally I have seen them perched on the channel markers in the river. Awesome sight.

I'm working out of my house today and I don't have the aerials with me. When I got online this morning I had a feeling you would call. I'm not planning on going back to the office until Friday and can get the files then or just give me a call on Monday and we can know it out.

Holidays are a bit crazy...

I saw one Sunday driving into Morgan City on 90. Always see them there.

I had one fly over my house in Slidell real low one day. I was talking to a neighbor and pointed it out. He thought it was the coolest thing.

Always see them in the Morgan City area, and see them on the northshore between October and March every year.

My in-laws live on the TN River on Pickwick lake. Every winter there are several that winter there. I've seen them quite a bit. There is one that everyday flys by there house. It's always +/- 10mins of when it flies by. One will sit in a tree in their yard looking over the water for fish or coots.

Last time i was hunting in bayou black (gibson area) we saw at least 5 or 6.

Saw an immature one in lake bouef last saturday.

They are ducks and coots arch nemesis. Ducks are petrified of eagles
