Coastal Alaska has an unbelievable number of them. In the interior you will find more golden eagles. It's not uncommon to see 30-50 in a feeding frenzy during various fish runs. I ran in to about 30 one day off the northern end of Douglas Island and got some great photos. They are making a comeback though in the lower 48k when I was a kid there just weren't any, or enough to make sightins common.

I drive hwy 90 and see 4 or 5 of them every day. See them while deet hunting and fishing below Morgan City all the time as well.

There is another nest on LA 3087 coming into Houma.
People would stop to take pictures until they put up no parking signs.
