They are everywhere in Canada. We gutted a deer, and came back to the site to gut another one, and 4 Bald eagles were on it(the gut pile) with some magpies. They just got up and lit, and waited till we left. They were just like vultures down in the South, but very beautiful.

You get about 3,000-5,000 that gather on the Chilkat River north of here in Oct-Nov. Quite the sight. They have been transplanting some to the lower 48 on a regular basis.

I see them almost daily on Toledo Bend, both north and south and have seen them many other places in La as well. They are now quite common.

Extremely beautiful and majestic birds.

Were a few on Toledo Bend back in the '90's when I fished down there, and a few on Black Bayou/Cypress Lake in Bossier Parish. Good to see them making a comeback. You never get tired of seeing them.

Mix between a California Condor and a Spotted Owl.

Not sure about Louisiana, but I've seen several in Bama and those things are simply amazing and freaking massive.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Louisiana has the 2nd highest eagle population next to
Alaska

I saw my first one this past weekend while pheasant hunting in the Texas Panhandle. It was about 200 yards away, flying very low and they said it was looking for a rabbit and/or pheasant.

I'll never forget the first time I saw my first one. Was on a field trip touring an estuary in south Alabama in 5th grade and the guide stopped us and pointed it out. Simply put, everyone was in aw

We've had them land in our yard chasing ducks. They try stealing our ducks when hunting and they run pouldeau better than any coonass in a mudboat ever could
