Going to wade big lake all weekend.

They say trolling motor or even hull slap will scare off the bigger, smarter fish so wading is a stealthier approach. And you can also cover an area much better than you would in a boat

let me let you baws in on a little secret.
It's not the boat.
Its the angle in which the Corky bait is worked. It cannot be duplicated in a boat. Wade fishing puts the rod tip in the correct angle to successfully twitch the Corky bait.

Those guides on the lake know where the vertical columns of oysters that these gator trout hang out on at certain times of the year.

More big trout have been caught from boats than any way else. Just a couple years ago, a guy from Texas (first time trout fishing BTW) caught a 10 pounder at the jetties in a guide boat on a large dead shrimp.

I'm not saying wade fishing isn't effective, but I'm not convinced that it's "better" than fishing from a boat. Especially if you're anchored or slowly drifting.

Like the two guys from Texas with a very nice bay boat at a gas station in Hackberry who asked me how the fishing was.

I said, "Y'all going wade fishing?"

Him,"Yep!"

Me,"Only a frickin Texan would spend $50,000 on a boat to go wade fishing."

Understood. Continue to be intrigued and frustrated. I've talked with the best and fished with the best out there and that's what I took from their expertise.

I have a ton of the regular Fatboys and have been wanting to get a few broke backs. Will they be in stores anywhere? Do I need to know a secret hand shake to get some of these?

I catch those all the time whilst sitting in my boat drinkin beer and listening to some tunes. Big trout love country music.
