re: Sweetwater vs Tito's Tournament Drama - stoms
Between this, the MS Billfish, and yellow mouth fever, I've learned tournament fishing is one big drama fest. I just got on FB a cpl years ago and between the 3 things I mentioned, the red snapper fight, the la private marsh deal, and the constant bickering in Leeville... I never knew fishing was li...

Versamaxx Bolt Fishing Cork Review - stoms
I bought and tried a versamaxx bolt cork over the weekend and wanted to let the OB know how it went. The whole idea is a small spool on the bottom of the cork where you can switch depths on the fly without having to retie. I used it with 30lb flouro and it worked as advertised. I thought it sounded ...

re: Any of you bastards in grand isle? - stoms
Limit of reds marsh north of Hwy 1. Never left sight of the camp. Went to Elmers at noon and caught a few dink trout in the surf. Man I love it down here. ...

The rigs in Lake Borgne have produced for me in early summer before. I have yet to fish that way this year. Good LAS article for that http://www.louisianasportsman.com/details.php?id=2421...

re: Can I use a LA fishing license if I'm going offshore, but leaving from MS port? - stoms
Your LA license is fine to leave and return to MS as long as you do not wet a line in MS. The only tricky part is LA requires an offshore landing permit and MS requires you to download and use the tails and scales app. To fish LA and return to MS you must do both. ...

re: Grand isle reports - stoms
I'll be fishing Friday pm and Saturday and unless I'm reading something wrong I don't see much on Tides4fishing. I glanced at it once a week ago. I don't really sweat that stuff. Just go when I can and make something happen...

re: Who here has worked at a chain restaurant/what was precooked/frozen? - stoms
If you're talking price-point, ya in my opinion. It's a slight notch above Applebees and Chili's but that's about it. Their food is ok. They're known for chicken tenders and potato soup that is literally cheese sauce and boiled potatoes. That said, you can absolutely get a good meal there. My ma...

re: Who here has worked at a chain restaurant/what was precooked/frozen? - stoms
First job was mom and pops restaurants at 15 yrs old. Was trained to do everything. At 18 got first serving job at Applebee's. Was also trained to expo and became FOH trainer. Moved to Ocharley's at 20 and served until I turned 21, then bartender. College mixed in next few gigs; transferred schools ...

re: Who here has worked at a chain restaurant/what was precooked/frozen? - stoms
Another quick semi-related gripe is when someone who isn't in the food business but tries to act like they know wtf they are talking about say something like, "they just use the sysco crap". Sysco, or any other food purveyor, have good shite and cheap shite. The quality of the product bought is not in...

re: Who here has worked at a chain restaurant/what was precooked/frozen? - stoms
Life long restaurant biz guy who has done the chain grind for years so I'm pretty qualified to answer this. There is a huge variance in chains. Your low-end chains like Applebees and Ocharley's dont do a ton of real cooking. A lot is pre-packaged as a means to achieve consistency. People bang on the...
