I wouldn't do it for double that honestly. Not the right culture for me, in addition to having to be away from friends and family. Would think hard about London and a few other places though.

no way I would do that for 150K...things in china are a hell of a lot more expensive than they are here....and the cities are exceedingly shitty places to be...

I'd do it in a heartbeat if given the opportunity.

I lived in Taiwan for 2.5 years and Hong Kong for 6 months from '95-'97. I was working on a Masters. I was a lot younger and a good bit more care free back then, so I didn't mind it. There are things that we get used to over here that just aren't the same in the Far East--it's the little things. At this stage of my life, I am not willing to give up the niceties of this country to deal with another country.

It was my years over there that made me really appreciate the good ole USA.

The air pollution is crazy in parts of China. Knew someone who had to cut a year long charity trip short due to respiratory problems associated with the pollution.

Not sure what the long term health risks would be but I wouldn't want to find out.

I worked in China for a year and loved it. I would go back for a 28/28 job in a heart beat, but not for 150k.

Hell no! Unless all of my expenses were paid and I walked with 150k tax free at the end of the year, then I would.

I would do it for a year or two while finding factories that can produce a product for me. Once that is taken care of I would come on home and start a online store selling Chinese crap.

I'd do it for a few years for sure. I've lived there, and it ain't so bad. Shanghai is a really cool city with many westerners. Unless you had a family and this would somehow negatively follow you around for your career, I'd see no reason not to take it.

I wear khakis to everything and own every Wilco album, they'd probably give me twice that due to my whiteness.
