I know plenty of people that have had the Acadia the last few years. I don't know one person that has not had issues. They are great when they are not breaking.

I still look at the Highlander like she's the one that got away. Maybe I should've worked harder to get one

If you want a reliable SUV with a third row, this is the way to go. You can get your hands on a dealer maintained 3.2 FWD with low miles for cheap. Soccer moms buy these things and trade them in when the neighbor gets something else. Unless of course you feel like you need to buy something new. If that's the case, light your money on fire with whatever one you want because they are all about the same for the first couple of year anyway.

07-14 XC90's are mostly ford running gear so you can buy parts at autozone. The VIDAS they run can be bought for like $100 and it gives you full diagnostic abilities. You can even turn off your seatbelt chimes.

They like to eat front ball joints and rear wheel bearings but being ford parts they are cheap parts. Some of the 3.2's have oil consumption issues but they aren't all that common and easy to diagnose in the parking lot of the dealership.

Dodge Journey. It's even good on gas mileage with a 4 cylinder.

We were in the market for the exact same thing and bought a 2105 Highlander Limited with 8000 miles on it for a great deal. My wife wanted brand new and they had this exact model and color new but the dealership would not negotiate at all on the new one; it was pretty much buy it or not because they knew it would sell. We bought the 2015, certified pre-owned with the factory lifetime warranty they are now offering at the price we wanted and metallic pearl in color. This is a really nice car and it's very highly rated with one of the strongest resale values of all the crossover SUV's.

I also own a 2001 Highlander as a third vehicle. Thing looks like shite. It has over 400k miles on it. You can't kill it if you tried. It's like an SUV super-hero.

The new 2017 Mazda CX-9 will be out shortly. I would check it out. The smaller CX-5 is the best in its class; I would expect the bigger one to do the same. And it's good looking:

I had a Honda Accord like that. Literally drove it until all the body parts started falling off but the motor and transaxle were still going strong at over 500K miles. There was just nothing left but that, though.

Where in the OP's post does it say his wife was complaining? She just wants three rows.

A couple friends of mine have the Pilot. That would be my vote.

Come on man. It's a woman and she wants something - she's complaining.
