Currently have 09 Tahoe. Anyone have any experience with the 2016 Ford Explorer Sport? Also looking at MDX. I just can't get past the maw maw look of the MDX. At the same time, I've also heard horror stories about the 3.5 ecoboost engines.

Tell your wife to be grateful for what she has and to stop complaining.

15 Explorer Sport, we like it, we don't use the 3rd row though since we have car seats in the second.

Look at the Honda Pilot. We have one and the third row can actually fit adults in it.

Have you considered a minivan? Tons of room in those Hondas and Toyotas.

I only have 2 kids but find 3rd row useless. My next suv won't have one.

Take a look at GMC Acadia. It has captains chairs which makes it easy to get to 3rd row.

This. Does your wife actually ever use the 3rd row? In most of the smaller SUCs the 3rd row has practically zero legroom. We have a Highlander and may have used the 3rd row once. It's highly uncomfortable for an average sized adult.

Toyota has the 4Runner and the highlander with 3rd rows. We test drove the 4Runner last week. Very nice car.

Once your kids are old enough to start having friends stay over, you will change your tune.

We have the Pathfinder and it's a very nice car. Had an MDX before it and found it to be a tad smaller

We don't use the 3rd row on the Tahoe much, however, I've got a 9th grader who plays lacrosse and 8th grader who does travel soccer, so we are always bringing an extra teammates with us to games. I'm trying to talk her into a Yukon, but she wants something smaller. I like the look of the Q7, however, I don't like the idea of spending a ton on maintenance, so therefore, that is out.

Either Porsche suv or Range Rover next so I'm not letting other people's kids in it anyway
