Wife went from a Toyota Sequoia to a Ford Explorer sport... She loves the explorer. No problems yet what so ever.

3rd row in anything smaller is pretty much worthless. Pain in the assignment to get in and out, and very cramped. We test drove a bunch before getting a Sorento without the 3rd row seat.

Meh. We have had a pilot for ten years. The small third row seat was fine for our little kids and their friends.

Not sure we are going to worry about a third row with the next purchase though.

Def. looking at the Pilot and Acadia. Also might consider a three year old XC90.

Get a minivan. Most 3rd rows in smaller SUVs are useless.

Just have your wife cut her hair short and wear potato sacks for clothes.

Just messing with you, but my wife hates minivans.

Unless you just want to spend the money for the name choose the Pilot over MDX. Pilot is as solid of a build as MDX

Car salesman here that sells different brands. Explorer Sports haul arse and are nice. Acura MDXs are nice but smaller. From my experience, pretty much all the GM mid size suvs (Terrain, Acadia, etc) have lots of issues and I would never recommend them to a family member looking for a vehicle. The Toyota Highlanders are nice if you dont want to spend 4 Runner money. My recommendation would be Explorer, anything Toyota that is the size you need, or Pilot.

The back seat of the MDX is good for kid booster seats, but not much else (no legroom). Nice car, my only issue is that every time I'm coasting it feels like I'm braking because of the transmission downshifting. I guess that will save in brake jobs in the long run

I've got an Explorer limited got a year old for just under 30k with about 18k miles on. Sports are expensive as hell. My wife wanted the 3rd row too... Thinks it's been used twice in 2 years.

My wife just bought a highlander I think it was the same price as a 4 runner with the same equipment.

Was in the same boat and went with 2016 BMW X5. Went down from an 07 Tahoe Z71. Third row is stupidly small but there for little kids if we need it. Car is freaking awesome FWIW. Broke my budget but we love it. 3 kids: 4 YO, 2 YO and new.

Just saw this on Esquire TV.

Her choices were a Mercedes crossover, a Volvo suv and an Audi suv.

I thought the Audi looked the best but she went with the Volvo.

Highlander or Pilot are your only real options.
