I just get a kick out of some people who claim to be Irish and celebrate St. Patricks Day but aren't familiar with Irish culture or politics. I'm descended from Irish immigrants but I'm not Irish.
I feel the same way. Also a descendant of Irish immigrants, but the latest ones arrived in the 1870s. I actually have their ship & immigration papers. My dad's side was still super Catholic growing up in New Orleans, so whenever I see pictures of the murals in Belfast, I always find it fascinating. The English certainly didn't do any favors to the Irish (that's putting it very politely).

No, I pay homage to the vikings in my bloodline and sport the long hair and beard.

I have a co-worker that has to take his wife out to celebrate tomorrow because she is Irish.
She is blonde, drinks alot, and likes to fight...thats how she knows she is Irish.

My wife is the complete opposite. She hates SPD because it stereotypes Irish people as ignorant drunks.

I am (well used to be) redheaded with pale skin and freckles.
My family lineage includes the name Kelso.
I've got A LOT of Irish blood.

The only Irish in me is on my fraternal grandmothers side (Maiden name of Murphy). Her father immigrated here during the great potato famine
