I never got toys for Easter. That's dumb parents are doing that. We got candy but everyone does. One year we got guinea pigs.

I'm 36 and we'd just get candy and one small cheap toy. That's what I do for mine now. We just had Christmas and I've got birthdays and anniversaries to buy for, too.

Candy, money & clothes. I don't see the problem with that.

We always got a shite ton of candy and a gift, normally nothing big.

I'm at my patents now and i don't see any candy. I'm about to protest with the easter bunny committee.

I would always get candy and some small stuff, like a t-shirt and a toy or two.

I noticed this year alot of parents are anti large quantities of candy, so they're giving toys/crafts to their kids instead.

I can supprt that expending how on lavish the basket contents are.

Everyone has to "out do" everyone else on facebook to feel good as parents. Has nothing to do with the kids.

my wife filled our daughter's basket with a bunch of cheap, little stuff for her to play with

total was probably <$15

I've seen a lot of baskets on FB, but nothing too extreme

The two holidays that have the most spiritual significance. If parents do it right, they are the two funnest times of the year.

We'd always get something small like a bathing suit or beach towel in addition to candy, but never toys or anything.

Why has the Easter Bunny become another Santa? Does the Easter Bunny have a sleigh? How does he get in? Does he have helpers? How is an animal doing all this?

My wife and I were talking about that very thing today. Her cousin was blown away that we didn't take our 3 year old to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap at the local mall. WTF, when did this shite become the norm?
