Are people that no longer go to church buying their kids things & putting them with the Easter basket in lieu of buying new clothes ahead to wear on Easter Sunday?

The real issue is that kids these days are going to lose touch with what these holidays are about. That's more concerning than giving gifts. If parents are taking their kids to church, spending time with family and then giving gifts, then i'm somewhat ok with that. But the parents that just give their kids gifts so they don't have to parent for a few hours is going to be a major problem when those kids get older.

I saw one facebook post today where the kids got frickin cases of soft drinks as gifts along with toys and other shite, lol.

We got our daughter a few books for us to read to her and a stuffed bunny. She is 6 months old, so candy isn't really her thing.

I've pretty much lost touch with Easter and it doesn't really feel like a holiday anymore. I probably won't get my future kids a basket or anything

I always got candy, new dress shirt, and slacks. Sometimes dress shoes.

Never toys for Easter, my wife's family does toys and it's stupid.

I would get candy and maybe one toy or whatever could fit in the basket. I don't think I ever got a video game, but ?I could be wrong.

We got boiled eggs, candy, stuffed animal, and a book in our easter basket. And imagine this, had to do easter egg hunts which actually invloved having to run around and exert energy to find a mix of hard boiled eggs and plastic eggs with some candy inside.

Well unless you're pagan, then it's about the goddess it's named after and the spring equinox.

The Easter Bunny always brought me a chocolate bunny, a toothbrush and toothpaste, & floss. One year I got a lego set from the Easter Bunny. That was unexpectedly awesome. My sister and I never really believed in the Easter bunny, but he came until we were like 12

I see a lot of people on here talking about how bad social media is nowadays. But isn't this website a form of social media?
