Several years ago my marriage was not going good. In fact it was going terrible. After much thought and even more rationalizations, I decided peruse women seeking men ads. . This was actually pre-Facebook in pre-dating sites. After finding a couple of duds I finally seem to find someone that shared many common interests. Or so it seemed. We both knew each other was married. We decided on a place to meet for drinks in Lafayette. She wasn't an OT 10 but about a five or a six. I was shocked when I found out that we had even more in common. We both love the piña colada's. And we both like getting caught in the rain. Needless to say I ended up not getting divorced and lived happily ever after

My wife had an exchange student from Lyon, France that lived with her for a year in New Orleans during college.

One of my friends in Austin randomly meets a guy from Lyon, france traveling the USA at a dog park and convinces him to go to colorado with him. He ends up bringing the French guy on our bro trip to Colorado. After I got to know the guy, it turns out he was friends with my wife's old roommate in Lyon. They went to school together.

Small world.

When I initially met my wife, we realized that we had crossed paths a few times before and some other odd coincidences. Some of these could individually be chalked up to just pure coincidence but I fully believe that it's not possible to be coincidence in a collective sense.

Drew Brees seemed to be saying the same thing when he described meeting his wife at Purdue and suddenly running into her everywhere. Not knowing their situation, I would have said the more likely scenario was that she was following him around campus. Which is probably what an outsider might think of my situation without knowing all of the details.

Took a chick out on a first date here in Baton Rouge and just by talking we figured out both of our dads graduated in the same high school class in Columbia, SC. If that ain't pretty random, I dunno what is

My Sister inlaw(born and raised in LA) (no pics) took a flight to Chicago to be a tourist for the weekend. Gets a hotel and goes down to a corner bar. Begins to chat with bartender. Bartender says "Where from?" and she says "Louisiana" .."He says , "Cool my roomate is from there, we should hang out after I get off." She agrees and goes to apartment where the bartender begins to cook meal for them.
---Roomate comes out of room and they introduces themselves, louisana comes up..Roomate says "DO you know LSU_Postman? He was my best friend from Louisiana?" SIL says "Why yes, that is my BIL! Holy shite!"

They both proceed to call me up on cell phone to say hi...

Mine isn't as good but at the time it was a pretty big coincidence. I was on a flight and there was a couple in front of me with two kids. Pre-flight we were making small talk and come to find out they were engaged and each of them had their one kid with them. They told me that they actually were born on the exact same day and year. I asked when their birthday was they said May 18th, which is my birthday as well. Thought that was kinda neat.

We're in the process of moving to Lafayette from New Orleans, and buying a house from a couple who are in the process of moving from Lafayette to New Orleans.

Met my wife in Lafayette, she is from Zachary. A large portion of my mom's family lives in Zachary. Not super coincidental, but Zachary isn't a very big place.

The tasting room manager at a vineyard that we visited in Napa was from a small town between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, and an LSU graduate.

I guess it isn't THAT big of a coincidence seeing that both of our families have a few mutual friends, but just thought it was kind of neat.

not my greatest but the only one i can think of. when doing wedding invitations, we sent two to the same person, who was my MiL's cousin, and my mom's best friend growing up. Our families had no reason to know each other before that.

Had no idea that they knew each other until they called that they got two and were blown away at the chances.

ETA: another one that wasn't me but my sister, she rear ended our next door neighbor in a town 60 miles away. both there for completely different reasons.

My parents were both born in Arkansas, 2 years, and less than 5 miles apart from each other. Never knew each other. Both families picked up and moved from Arkansas to California before either was 10 years old. They settled in California, less than 5 miles from each other. Finally met about 8 years later, been married for 56 years this October.

I was at a CVS in Vegas, and I was the 3rd person in line. The slightly older guy at the register was buying alcohol, and was asked his birthday. When they guy said it I thought to myself wow, we have the same birthday. Then the guy between us tells the first guy that he had the same birthday, so I chimed in and said I did also. 3 people in a checkout line all with the same birthday, but different years.

My grandmother's 2nd husband has a great granddaughter that was born the exact same day in the same hospital as one of my nieces (making her my grandmother's great granddaughter).

Remembered another one: I was walking around in DC wearing an LSU shirt. Guy behind me says Geaux Tigers. I turn around and start talking to him. Turns out he was a doctor at the hospital I was born at. Had to ask my mom what the doctor's name was that delivered me. It wasn't him, but he was in the building at the time.

I just remembered another one. My parents and brother lived in Bartlett, TN before I was born, they moved to Atlanta in 1982. Fast forward to 1989 and we moved to Long Beach, MS. At our church in Long Beach my parents met a family that was moving to Bartlett, TN.....into the same house that my parents lived in 7 years earlier.

Went to a beer dinner at kingfish where you sit next to randos. End up sitting with my uncle and two cousins I haven't seen in 19 years. We got hammered.

Two seasons ago we were headed from Houston to Baton Rouge for the A&M game. I get past Baytown and realize I had left my tickets in the dresser drawer like a dumbass. It was too late to turn around and go back so my wife texted our friends looking for tickets and we were offered a couple of seats in the North End Zone. We got to the game and sat down and this other couple about our age are sitting beside us. After a few inquiring looks the woman asked my wife if she was _____?

Turns out to be one of my wife's room mates at LSU who she had not seen in over 25 years. This would of never happened if I had not forgot our season tickets which are not in the North End Zone.

We were watching some home videos of my wife playing t-ball once and found one where her team played against my team. Small-ish town, so not super coincidental, but still pretty neat.
