My wife and I may have met multiple times as children and never realized it until later when we had identical memories of the same event. She grew up in BR, me in AP.

When we were both around 5-6 years old, I have a memory of going to Stennis right before closing time and my mom having to pull me away from the table with all the lego blocks where I was playing with a little blond girl. My SO remembers being at that table and seeing a little skinny kid have to be tugged away by his mother.

I remember going to Earth Day on my razer scooter at age 10 or 11 and the scooter falling apart while riding down North Blvd near the old governor's mansion, cauing me to hit the pavement and hurt myself. I remember a blonde girl my age trying to help me up so I could go find my parents. She remembers seeing a little boy fall off his razer scooter there at Earth Day.

We also went to a lot of the same events as teenagers and never met, including band competitions, concerts, and festivals. We had a bunch of mutual friends in the first year of college, including my roommate's best friends, yet anytime one of us hung out with them, the other never did. I used to have. Breakfast with a group of her classmates a couple days each week, but she only ate with them the days I wasn't there somehow.

When we finally met, we couldn't believe how many people we knew in common. There was a lot of "I know ______, how the heck do you know ____?" This tradition continues everywhere we go today.

That's a pretty awesome story.

I met my wife because she signed up for the wrong class. She was a shy freshman and didn't realize she could have dropped it so she stuck with it and we ended up in a group project together.

I got a huge career break after finishing second for a job I interviewed for - another person in the department went off on someone and quit five minutes after they had called me to tell me I didn't get the job. That afternoon I got an email asking me not to take another job. A week later they hired me.

When I got to the job - I found out that the girl who quit was an ultra feminist and was mad that they had hired a male into the other position. She blew up and quit. If I had been hired, I would not have worked well with her. Ended up becoming good friends with the other guy that was hired.

The best recent and random one is that I dated my mortgage guy's wife in college. He added me and we were mutual friends and he asked me how did I know his wife. I really could have said "intimately," but I just said we were friends in college.

I was watching a movie one night in Elmwood back in the day. This group was being obnoxious during the Django Unchained preview. I turned to the nearest guy and said hope y'all don't act like that during the movie

Quentin Tarantino turned to me and said don't lose your shite kid. He then assured me that his friends were only cheering during that preview.

What a coincidence!

Ran into a neighbor in Alvin's Island in San Destin. Had no idea they were vacationing there at the same time, but that is not really a stretch.

Have run into multiple people I knew from my old home town, family and old college friends in bars in New Orleans since my inlaws live there and we visit quite a few times a year.

Ran into a childhood friend in a bar in Cancun as well. I had lost touch around age 12 and didn't see him again until this event around age 21. He died in Iraq a year or so later. Glad I got to have that drink with him in Mexico.

It's not a coincidence most of my coincidences happen in bars...

Last serious girlfriend I had before I met my wife ended up marrying my neighbor's brother. I saw her next door from some thing a while back. My neighbor and wife both know about it. The neighbor hates his sister-in-law/my ex so he is always asking for emberassing details.

Met a guy at a regional professional conference in Atlanta. Found out he was from Lexington, KY.

I told him that I was roommates with a guy from Lexington, KY one year while I was in college.

It was his brother.

I took a short cut in a subway tunnel and fell in some mud, ruining my pants.

The very pants I was returning.

My parents took me on a cruise after i graduated college. In line to get on the ship i see one of my college roommates and his family. Had no idea they were going to be there. Basically became a group vacation.

When i was a kid we ran into my next door neighbor in line for a ride at Disney world.

I had a friend from Michigan and once met these 2 hot black twins he was friends with from up there. Then my other friend (from Louisiana) met and became friends with this other guy from Michigan. None of these people live in the same city or are from the same city. Just all from the same massive fricking state. Once we were talking and he start talking about these hot black chicks he use to know and i just jokingly went "oh you talking about X and Y?" and he about tackled me from across the room. Same chicks. Small fricking world.

I live in Raleigh and my job at the time was managing a team of field technicians located in various cities all over the country. One day my wife and I drove up to Richmond, Va and stopped in at the Bass Pro shop there. As I was walking through the store I heard my name called. Didn't think it could be for me since I don't know anyone in Richmond, but looked anyway. Turns out it was my guy that lived in Bangor Maine (who I had just moved there from Anchorage, Ak.) He was in town to visit some friends.

A friend's grandfather went ashore on Peleleue, ran up the beach and dove behind a log to take cover. He landed right next to a guy he knew from his hometown.

I had dorm room 108.
A guy with exact same first, middle and last name had dorm room 208.

A friend of mine with a computer program says there are 28,000 people with my first and last names in usa.

We got each other's mail sometimes, mr 208 and me.

My parents and I took a trip to Venice, Italy while I was at LSU in 2005. While walking the streets just off the main plaza, I looked through a shop window and saw a girl I went to elementary school with. Turns out she and her family were in Venice for the day shopping before returning to Switzerland for her brothers wedding. I thought that was a pretty cool coincidence.

In 2000 a friend and I from Arizona went to the wedding at the Jersey Shore of a friend who used to live in AZ. We stayed with another friend who at the time was living in Manhattan and was an actor on "All My Children" and we went out in the city a few times, including a night in Greenwich Village.

Years later my Arizona buddy had a friend in town from Tampa that he was dating and they somehow got on the subject of NYC. She tells how her and some girlfriends went to NYC on a shopping trip years earlier and went out one night in Greenwich Village and even got a pic of "Fergie's husband" (our friend from "All My Children"). She tells how the bar was so crowded she just held her camera above the crowd and snapped off a few pics. In some of the pics you could clearly see me, our actor friend and a side profile of my Arizona buddy -who she was now dating- as well as pics of Kelly Ripa and her husband. Small world, girl visiting from Tampa takes random pics in a NYC bar and captures pics of her future Arizona boyfriend.

I had a nephew that had the same birthday as his great grandfather and passed away the same month and date, years later, that his great grandfather passed away.

What's your greatest "what a coincidence" story?

I may think of one greater but it ties into the Pug Named Parker story I've shared... I met this chick in a Polly Esthers in Seattle.

Anyhoots. Suns coming up and passing SeaTac airport and I'm like "ohh we need to hurry. our flight leaves there in 3 hours to get back to Dallas".

She asked where I was from originally yadayada.
Turns out she was a half-cajun from Abbeville. Crazy how coonass cock found coonass cooch in a packed Seattle dance club.
Guess it does add up somewhat when she was the only chick interested in doing shots of Wild Turkey with a stranger.
