My fianceé and I didn't meet until we were in our mid 20s despite growing up just 2 cities apart.

The other night, my mom pulled out a box of old photos from around 15 years ago. At a Halloween party, I was posing with a friend and my fianceé was in the background.

I guess it isn't THAT big of a coincidence seeing that both of our families have a few mutual friends, but just thought it was kind of neat.

I was just thinking how terrible the OT had become recently and when I came here, your shitty thread was the first one I saw. What a coincidence.

I was studying abroad in China. First day there I meet a guy from Dallas. I asked him if he knew this girl who was my sister's roommate at the time. Said he dated her for 3 years. We became fast friends and still are since we both live in Dallas now.

My parents met once when they were kids. My grandparents (dad's parents) sold a house to my mother's sister. My mother went with her sister when it was time to close the sale and met my dad. They didn't meet again until college. It took them awhile to connect the dots and realize they had met before.

If you look at the map the right way, Dallas is just two cities away from Baton Rouge. That means there's a really great chance I probably fricked your mom.

True story: some random guy was on his way to a Christmas party with his date and told her a random story about a decade before he was at a party and some drunk naked guy fell off a house trying to surprise the party by jumping into the pool..... fast forward to later that night at the Christmas party and my date and I met this couple. As we were talking we realized we had known some of the same people back before the storm. Come to find out I was the random drunk guy he had told his date about earlier in the evening.

Met my wife while she was living in another state and, as we were talking, we found out a number of things

1. She used to live as a child in Baton Rouge before moving, approximately 1 mile from where I grew up

2. We both went to the same college in Mississippi at the same time but didn't run across each other that we know of

3. When she mentioned where she was from, I said I only knew one person from there who happened to be a good friend's wife I had known the whole time I was in college. Turns out they had grown up with each other.

More coincidences as well but those are the ones that stick out.

My mom had a good friend in high school in Huntsville, AL that ended up being her roommate for part of the time they were students at Alabama. They lost touch after college (pre-Facebook) as my mother married my father who was in the Navy and moved around a lot and the other woman married an airline pilot and moved around a lot. My mom ended up back in Huntsville and this lady ended up living in Dallas.

They didn't have each others phone numbers, emails, etc.

When I was about 7 years old (almost 20 years after they'd lost touch) I was too scared (read: I'm a pussy) to ride a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas that my brother and sister wanted to ride. My mom sits outside the ride with me while they ride it and this lady walks up. Ends up being her friend she hadn't seen in almost 20 years. They reconnected and have become good friends once again. They probably would've reconnected via FB a few years later anyway but the story is much better this way.
