Definitely inferior... I got some with a gift card a 1.5 yrs ago, fricking best buy guy said they were better than the Bose. These were ear buds by the way which were more expensive than the Bose. I brought them back 4 times with issues. On the 4th time I damn near cussed out the manager b/c i wanted something else and he was giving me tons of shite.
Anyways... I have Bose now and they sound better and I've had no problems.

Same here. I have a set of the wired Studios and I like them. Best Buy had them $100 off for Black Friday so I gave them a shot. Very comfortable on the plane.

That's the Solos, lower model.

Is this the thread where old fricks complain about what's popular today?

They really aren't worth $400. As others have said, you are paying for the name/image.

I've never sampled any Beats headphones, but I bought (and returned) several headphones from Amazon and ended up buying the Audio Technica ATH-M50x for $200ish, and they sound fantastic.

Are you looking for wireless? Noise-cancelling? Over-the-ear / on-the-ear?

It's pretty much the same as anything else style wise. It's a decent pair of headphones but it's also a major fashion accessory too.

Just like how a name brand polo will cost around $70 while one from Walmart that is for all intents and purposes the same will cost around $10.

Same exact concept, just seems a little foreign to people because it's an electronic/technology compared to more traditional fashion type stuff.

Actually they've already been purchased by my MIL for my son's Christmas gift from her. I'm just trying to understand why people are willing to pay that much for them. On the other hand, we're giving him this....

That's a Remington Model 770 .308 with scope. I picked it up at BassPro on Black Friday for $319.00 plus tax. I think it will make a perfect first true deer rifle for him.

Economics 101: a product/service is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

Nothing. My $160 Audio Technicha head phones are vastly superior.

Yep. The same people in this thread who are making fun of beats buyers, are the same ones that own a $500 Yeti

Well, I don't know that much about it, but it seems that I've heard that Yeti coolers are able to perform a function that most other cheaper coolers can't. They can maintain temperature for a much longer time.

Some people here are saying that you can get better or the same function from cheaper headphones.

If this is true then that isn't a very apt analogy.

Good marketing. It has been tested, and proven they do not hold ice longer.

Not really. We all choose to buy something that isnt necessarily "worth it". I dont buy the yetis or beats, but I will spend my money on fancy cowboy boots. We all have things we like to spend extra on. To each his own

I used my nephews last week to see what all the hype was about and it really didn't sound much different than the $10 pair I have from the dollar store.

I buy the $5 Styrofoam coolers from Circle K, whenever I need one and toss it after multiple uses when it crumbles into little white foam chunks.

Marketing brah.

Good marketing makes women think they can soak their hands in dish washing liquid like they at the spa.
