What makes these worth almost $400?

Wireless Beats by Dr. Dre...
$379.95
What gets me is other wireless headphones are as low as $8.44.
I'm a firm believer in buying quality and not just going with the cheap option... but really is there really over $370.00 worth of difference there other than the name? I mean, at the end of the day these are just small speakers attached to a head band. Just to compare, this costs less than wireless beats....

That surround sound system is garbage. My interconnects, speaker cables, and power cords alone cost more than that.(I have a cheap <$2k 2.0 system for reference)

I haven't used the wireless full sized beats but I love my wired ones. If you want BY FAR the best deal on headphones sign up for a site called Massdrop. It's a free co-op buying site and they have headphone deals going on every single day.

From what I understand, you are just paying for a brand. All the audiophile types who I have talked to have said that they aren't even that great of quality. You can get much better bang for your buck.

Have a pair of Bose head phones that are 100 x's better than the pair of Beats headphones my sister got for free (and doesn't even use).

its the "cool" thing to wear man. beats by dre is stylish to a lot of people. walk around LSU and you'll see many people wear them constantly, even in class. or some people just walk around with them hanging around their neck all day... its the "in" thing to do
