yep, I would never pay for that much for Beats. I won them at work luckily, but I can tell you that they're really nothing special. Completely overrated product.

ame reason why Yetis are $400 and Jordan's are $250, because people will pay that for them for the name.

This. Beats are a fashion statement as much as they are functional headphones.

Slight disagreement. While I think being "cooler life" is stupid, Yetis do something some coolers don't. They're overbuilt.

Beats are inferior to 30 dollar headphones.

Pretty much what I was thinking. I don't mind paying more for a product as long as I'm getting value and quality from the extra money I spend. As for having the cool name.... I care zero.

True. I started this thread because last year my son used his birthday money to buy him a set of wired Beats. Now they've come out with these wireless Beats and he's dying for a set (He's just turned 13 BTW). He's wanting to spend his birthday money this year on it but what he does not know is his grandmother has already bought him a pair for Christmas. I know it's her money to spend as she wants, I just can't bring myself to overpay that much for something like headphones.

Even if they were quality, I would never buy a pair or even wear them in public if given for free.

Don't want to be associated with urbanites, trash, and hipsters.

I put these on and I didn't hear a difference at all between those and the ones that cost $50 right next to it.

Honestly, I like the ear buds from apple just as much. Just doesn't cancel the noise

I have the wired beats but ultimately they are same thing. I did a lot of research , read multiple reveiws, and listened to comparable headphones. they actually sound great. Mini concert on your head. And are some of the more stylish. Give them a listen.

I haven't used the wireless full sized beats but I love my wired ones.

I was against the whole beats. But one day I got a pair of Solo HD's for 100 bucks. They were ok. Got the Solo 2 HD's for about 120 and they are pretty damn good for that price. Usually they are 200+ but the BX had a 4th of july special so I said frick it.

its a yearly battle that I have with my kids grandparents - I just give up. I tell them you can't buy love. My oldest son used to do that as well always wanted expensive shite - if someone gave him money he'd blow it on the most expensive shite he could find. Now that he has little ones he's totally woke up.

One of the worst investments I've ever mad was some $120 beats ear buds..... Dre must have the deepest ear canal known to man.

I never see anyone wearing these things besides athletes who are probably given them for marketing.

My sister bought my bro-in-law a pair a few years ago and he returned them because he knew they weren't worth what she paid for them.

Seriously, who buys these things? (besides my rich conspicuous consuming sister?)

I know they are like the pinnacle of coolness for 13 year old boys. Course they also are big-time into $30 a pair knee high socks like these....

....as a fashion statement as well so to be honest, I really don't get what makes kids nowadays like the things they do.

I wouldn't go that far, but they are inferior to many pairs of $150 headphones

I have about 5 pairs of headphones including Beats, and the Beats are my favorite ones by far. I don't see why people feel so threatened by them. It's a good product IMO
