re: How are you feeling about the upcoming season? - cleeveclever
I think after back-to-back 7-9 outings, anything more that cautious optimism would be unwarranted. I think they've made some changes that could prove to be positive. They've brought in some rookies, who could potentially be very exciting. There are some things to be hopeful for. Not sure how...

re: Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky took me out to go get a drink... - cleeveclever
Brasky was Godfather to one of my kids. He shows up drunk to the Christening wearing golf pants covered in mud. He walks up to the altar, pushes the priest aside and says "I'll baptize this little calamari." So he pours gin all over my son's head and says "There, now you're baptized!"
...

re: Terrorist attack in Nice, France. 84 DEAD, 20 seriously injured - cleeveclever
There's a liveleak video of the aftermath and it's horrifying. I kind of regret clicking now
Saw it too. Was as horrible and sickening as I imagined it would be. Just no words to describe the carnage. Absolutely sickening and infuriating. ...

re: So You Got an Instant Pot on Prime Day—Now What? - cleeveclever
Bought one of these on Prime Day last year. Love the damn thing. I do agree though that while actual cool times are quick the pressurization and depressurization add about 30 minutes to everything. Still better than a crock pot though. ...

re: This may have been discussed before. It needs to be discussed again if so. - cleeveclever
It's interesting how if you watch an old NFL game from the 70s or 80s, they always make reference to sell outs and how many consecutive sell outs have occurred at that venue. I guess the NFL used to look at it as a real barometer of their success. Now all you have to do is look at the billions of ...

re: Is the phrase "we thought it was fireworks" the stupidest comment ever? - cleeveclever
t still being around the 4th? No, not stupid at all. No one wants to think gunshots at a huge crowd first
True this. There's a dill weed in my neighborhood still firing off his stash from the 4th. Should I assume he's capping folks instead?...

re: 2016 Season Win Total - cleeveclever
My heart says 9-7 (maybe 10-6). My gut says 7-9. I think we've made some solid changes and getting back a few folks from injury will definitely help. However, we've already lost a couple of defenders to IR and those numbers will likely grow once training camp and preseason are underway. ...

re: Wow the Saints Top 25 passers is a depressing list (sans 1-4) - cleeveclever
It's more telling that in our 50 years we've had two quarterbacks that played for 10+ seasons -- and one qb who played for seven seasons. We really haven't had that many qbs in the grand scheme of things. ...

re: BR Nostalgia Thread: Rank the BR Video Stores - cleeveclever
I grew up off of Greenwell Springs and Monterrey Blvd, so Video Palace was the closest to us, but I really loved Video Co-op. Once we started going there, we never went anywhere else. Great memories of renting horror movies and Nintendo games. I had a friend who lived off Oneal and he rented hi...
Toi Cook led to success? He was worse than Jason David. His was the original Toast. The strings of obscenities my father yelled at him every game was why I sound like a sailor half the time.
Toi's successful seasons were definitely in tandem with guys like Dave Waymer, Robert Mas...

re: How Would You Handle This OT Trashy Story? - cleeveclever
You did a generous thing for a person in need with no expectation of reimbursement. Chances are, if these people are trash, they were going to find a way to exploit this death for their own personal gain. I'd just move on and ignore them. ...

re: Is Vaughn Dunbar the worst draft pick in the history of Saints? - cleeveclever
IMO you can't even mention Erxleben because first off shame on the Saints for picking a kicker in the first round even though he was expected to be drafted very high. Secondly he did go on to have a pretty good career as a punter. 8 years in the NFL and averaged 40.6 yards per punt, not bad![...
