Energy weapons should be common place in a few decades. I only wonder.... will the second amendment cover ray guns?
Probably not, though it should. While McDonald
indicate that the court as presently constituted is slowly expanding gun rights, they also seem to indicate a willingness that citizens shouldn't have certain types of guns based on a safety concern that, interestingly, was not put in the second amendment. You will likely not be able to have an energy weapon for the same reason you can't have certain semi-automatic and automatic weapons.
