Biking through busy city streets is a good way to get killed. To many things to catch a drivers attention and bikes to blend in to.

Have no problem with bikes on the road in rural areas.

It would be incredible if we had designed our cities with biking lanes. If you've ever been to London, or any other city in Europe, they have their public transportation down.

But we built our cities with space in mind, at least not in the NE.

Ok you win. Our infrastructure is better then Mexico. We should all be grateful and stop complaining about our shitty roads.

Sure, if it were free. It would cost untold billions to realize bike lanes in all US cities, though.

Except that most bike enthusiasts want special bike lanes built everywhere which costs a lot extra and serves a very small minority of the road traffic. So $50 not 5 percent of what cars costs.

And all of it comes back to the stupid decision that bikes shouldn't be allowed on sidewalks with pedestrians. Put the bikes back on the sidewalks where they belong 90% of the time and this isn't a problem. That way, specific bike lanes only need to exist in excessively high bike traffic areas like along some major downtown streets in major cities and around recreation areas like the LSU Lakes, but alas...

Like I say, the right of way should go to the 3 or 4 thousand pound piece of metal rather than a person or huffy.

Oh hell no. In LA, especially Baton Rouge I think the drivers try to speed up if they see a pedestrian trying to cross.
And no redneck is ever going to agree that sharing the road with a bike is acceptable.

Oh here we go again....all you have to do is claim that you are offended by no bike lanes everywhere and another movement will start. I think you should keep your damn bikes off the road.
