I doubt FEMA is going the trailer route this time. I heard that they've reached out to renters to lease places to people in need with FEMA footing some or all of the bill.

I highly recommend this guy. Extremely knowledgeable about these situations and will do as much or little as you need from the very beginning to end. I like the idea of dealing with one contact and he knows how flood ins adjusters operate. Don't know where I'd be right now without him seriously. Shoot him an email. I'm not putting his number on here. MIchael @ bamincla dot com Good luck.

Driving through Central, I'm seeing a lot of people pulling over on the side of the road and going through people's debris. I dont know how to feel about this. This is weird.

I'm cool with it. I see a lot of furniture that looks fine from the drive by. If someone can use it or even re-sell it that's great.

I've seen several church groups picking up mattresses from trash piles.

I'm here too. At first we weren't sure how to feel, but as we started running out of space to stack stuff by the road at my friends house, we're glad they took some. Hopefully it helps those people and keeps salvageable items out of a landfill.

If someone had the time and energy they could do well as a picker right now. I saw lots of things being thrown out that could fairly easily be cleaned up and restored.

The problem here is that almost everyone is full. By Tuesday of last week I was calling around looking for places to send people (we had none left) and was finding nothing available

Mornin' Aspy hope you've been well.

All the apartments in the area are filled up now?

I would assume almost all apartments in BR are filled up. Even the shitty ones like the rebranded arts at jefferson, and blue bonnet.

I feel bad for those that get sucked into those places, they are going to be in for a surprise when cops are crawling around there because those places do no back ground checks out all so criminals have an easy in. They will also feel the pain when they are raped on the way out by bullshite charges.

Here is the problem I"m running into. I need bodies. My mom lives in Sherwood by Flannery. She is literally shell shocked. She is in her 70's. lost everything in one day. They have a couple of people helping them and the house is nearly gutted but they still have the kitchen to do. That means the cabinets have not yet been pulled as of yesterday when I left. Bathrooms haven't been gutted yet eitehr and yes, I know about the mold. I'm going down today with a commercial dehumidifier and industrial fans but I can't do it all by myself.

Just plain need help and frankly don't know where to go for it.

That's pretty gross. We are trying to save our mattress but will throw it out if necessary. Our bed is high so the box spring and mattresses stayed dry, but any smell or sign of mold and it's gone.

Hey muddy

They are

For a few days I was able to send them elsewhere, but by Thursday or Friday i couldn't point them in the right direction. Everything was gone.

And hbt, if you think bluebonnet place and the arts are bad, you have no idea what bad in br is. I'd have sent people there before other places. But everything is full.

I didn't say they were the worst but its fairly ghetto. I would know since i lived there The front office people aren't bad, but the owner is a giant piece of shite. All of his businesses were losing money, at least until this.

They did a horrible job of stopping break ins. they put up like a game camera instead of actually putting up a legit security camera. I know for a fact they don't do any back ground checks and they were so desperate for people they were letting people pay 2 months rent up front to avoid having to do any type of work checking on their credit worthiness. So of course that leads to drug dealers and such moving in. They even had cops searching the wrong apartments looking for the stupid drug dealer.

Post a way for people on here to contact you. Also include day and time of a concentrated effort. I've been part of gutting 7 houses. When you can arrange a coordinated effort, I goes quick.

I'll watch for your update and will try to help myself or route people to you.

It sucks to feel that way, but please know that the help will come. Get the word out to nearby areas that were not flooded and use Facebook too, get friends to use Facebook on your behalf. Churches, schools and other charitable groups are organizing. People will help.

Good luck.
