Rhodes Stadium in Katy is pretty nice.
LINK

However it hosts games for District Home games for the Katy 19-6A schools Katy, Cinco Ranch, Seven Lakes, Tompkins, Mayde Creek, Morton Ranch, and Taylor

here is the new stadium they are building next to rhodes:

And Katy high school. Which for the most part is filled with mostly season ticket holders.

Needless to say, McKinney needs to keep up.

McKinney is the #1 place to live in the country by Forbes. I'm glad McKinney is not Frisco or Plano.

I still cannot believe that, but I have seen it.

Allen's stadium is great and they pack it out. McKinney needs to keep up, especially with what Frisco is about to get.

Hopefully they design and build this one properly, so it doesn't start falling apart halfway through the firsy season like the Allen one did.

So what are the academics like at this school?

this may come as a shock, but school district that have a metric ton of rich people and local funds tend to have superior school facilities AND good superior academics.

When I clicked on this thread, I thought, heck, that's much cheaper than Rhodes 2.0 going up in Katy.

maybe they could dial the high property taxes back a bit instead.

I guess they could but at least we see where our money goes. Total tax rate in my area is 2.8894% Now depending on where you live the MUD, the ESD tax and school district taxes could be higher or lower. Still not too damm bad.

quote:

County FT BEND CO GEN 0.4728%
DRAINAGE DISTRICT FORT BEND DRNG 0.0220%
EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT FT BEND CO ESD 2 0.0980%
EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT FT BEND CO ESD 4 0.0900%
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT KATY ISD 1.5266%
MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT FT BEND MUD 34 0.6800%

With no state income tax I pay less in property tax than what I would pay in state income tax if I lived in Louisiana. Which if I did live back in Louisiana, I would have had to send my kids to private school which would have costed more than what I pay in property tax yearly as well.

It's a couple blocks from our place. Hopefully it brings some more shite to this area. Nothing but fields in the immediate area next to the stadium site.

Does McKinney have good support for their football teams? Never see them far into the playoffs.

Allen can fill their's but they only have one (very large) high school, and tend to attract some of the blue chip talent.
