I just don't understand why the housing prices are so damn high. It's comical.

I had to close Facebook last night. CNN and others were Circle jerking Mitch's speech and everyone in the comments were talking about all of those racists down there that wanted to keep them.
I really fricking hate the general populous sometimes.

Maybe someone can help me out here, but I don't recall reading, hearing, or seeing any protests of these statues on the news or my previous times in New Orleans. In fact, I can remember Robert E. Lee at Lee Circle was a meeting point for friends of ours in Mardi Gras.
Is this something recent or has there been a movement in opposition of the statues for some time now?
That a-hole in Charleston had a confederate flag in some pictures. That's literally what got the ball rolling

Yea, all the assholes that said that can seriously blow me. Anyone with half a brain could see the shitstorm coming by giving the Bitch an inch. There's no stoping these morons at this point.

And all this time it took a white man to turn New Orleans into a Chocolate City. Oh, the irony.

When are they going to get to changing the name of the parish?
After all this shite, they better push for it. I want to see them frickers change Jefferson Parish and Jeff Davis Parish.

Mitch has no control over Jeff Parish. What you are about to see is Jefferson Parish fricking boom while Orleans bleeds a slow death

Realistically speaking, Does anyone see NOLA actually going way south? What white person wants to live there after this? You would hope NOLA maybe just goes to shite after this but do people care enough?

They want Tulane renamed ....
I hope it happens. Let the fricking libs suck on that.
ETA: I consider myself a history buff and I really love Civil War history, but I honestly had no idea how Tulane got it's name.

Have you seen who wants to tear down the statues? This should hardly be surprising.

Tbh, I think Mitch accomplished what he wanted with these four statues. He's looking forward to the national scene. He's on cruise control until next year. I guarantee he'll start writing op eds and appearing on cable news more often.
frick Mitch. frick Benji.

Only upper class families can afford to purchase in a majority of nola. You want a starter home, the east is available.

This next election is very important for the future of nola. Vote is in November. Mitch is done allegedly in February.
Mitch knew what he was doing. Remove the statue with obvious Confederate ties before the next election. He will be able to stall on the other, less "offensive" statues until the next mayor takes office.
