I'm really considering paying out of state tuition to avoid LSU and get my kids out of here ASAP.

Well, if they had to prove they would have a balanced budget, and the organizers failed to prove it, then it’s on them.

I probably won't do that but I've already told our youngest that she should go to college elsewhere in the state (unless she gets an out of state scholarship) due to how ghetto BR is now.

The difference is Baker, Zachary, and Central have always been separate communities that decided to incorporate.
St. George isn’t a community it’s a group of suburban neighborhoods that are part of Baton Rouge just not within the defined city limits. To act like it’s a separate community is completely disingenuous.

Ok, reading more into it, this judgment a joke and ripe for appeals.
“The budget presented at trial did not include the cost of paying the sheriff’s office for law enforcement, the ruling states. “
SG already pays for Sheriff services via property taxes. I thought this stupid argument was settled in 2014.
He also stated that the SG incorporation "only minimally satisfies" the statutory requirements.....meaning IT DOES.
What a joke. He must be on MOP's payroll.

I've been downvoted into oblivion for the last 5 years for pointing out that the law enforcement money situation isn't as simple as the SG organizers painted it out to be, and that's with me supporting the creation of SG.
But no..nobody here wanted to hear that it was problematic and would cause trouble for the incorporation effort and yet here we are.
Instead of pushing the SG organizers to resolve the issue, I expect everyone to just downvote this post and accuse the judge of being a Soros stooge.

I believe New Orleans was recently bailed out by the state.
Again.

It should never have been about the school district. It should have been about divorcing from the shitshow.

The whole problem is BR politicians will be poor if they only steal money from BR without SG. They need SG tax dollars. I paid $2300 dollars of property taxes at the top of the year in SG and saw that some households in North BR paid $30 dollars.
BR would go broke without us in SG.

Glad I got out when I did. Just goes to prove that a popular vote is meaningless.
There are plenty of new schools being built in Ascension. Come on down.

Serious question here - what’s complicated about it?

So, we struck Baton Rouge out of existence? Isn't that at least a semi-win?

Vote with your feet and get the frick out of here.
I mean, really - let's face it. We're all gonna have to move away from BR eventually. Should you wait until you get assaulted? Because then you're still moving but now, with an injury or a personal loss of some kind. Gotta get in front of that shite.
