Not looking like a slob is unmanly just like eating a salad.

Why cant you wear shorts that fall above the knee? You find giant long "shorts" comfortable? You don't find a lighter weight pair of shorts comfortable?

Because some people's wieners are dangerously close to that threshold. See those athletic shorts... can't do them either, and they tend to be longer. The problem with them is the junk outline you get due to the fabric, not your junk hanging out.

I have some cargo shorts that are more comfortable, and some that aren't. For me, I wear them because I hate fashion trends, and fashion in general, and because I don't need anything from anyone. Everyone's talking about looking professional, well I have the job I wanted. I have a wife I still love. I have enough friends, and they don't care what I wear. I'm not going to walk around looking like a hobo, but the last thing on my mind in the morning is whether something matches or looks good. Does it cover my tenders? If yes... proceed to dressing the kids in something as equally ridiculous. I just don't want to be around people who care what I wear.

And as for what people put in the extra pockets... cause a couple of children to be born and you'll see. There's sunglasses, stickers, toys, snacks, go-go squeezies, and wrappers for all the crap they eat when there's no garbage can around. More stuff than I want to carry in a backpack or in my hands, that's for sure.

I have some older shorts that have a longer inseam (still a little above the knee), but they feel really weird on my legs. I stick to 5-7" inseams, no pleats though.

To those that wear cargo shorts do you really use all the extra pockets?

Wallet
Cash roll
2 phones
Keys
Bong
Stash
Lighter

Those items are just day to day. Could change depending on the event. Saints game, festival, parade, etc.

So you wear something you find uncomfortable just because it is unfashionable?

Why does he have to be joking? Shorts are meant to fall above the knee unless you want to look like a skateboarder.

these threads are always amusing

baggy clothes, in general, make the person look sloppy or look like they do not know how to dress themselves

baggy clothes are also not more comfortable

with that said, not all cargo shorts are baggy or past the knee, plenty of outdoor and/or technical shorts have cargo pockets and look just fine

the big, baggy cargo shorts from American Eagle though? no grown adult should be wearing those

it doesn't make you gay or metrosexual or whatever when you take notice of someone's dress and make judgements on that person based on how they are dressed, especially if that is all we have to go by

its just human nature

Because your sack would/should be hanging out of a 5" inseam short. That is shorter than some boxer briefs.

Not sure what's so outlandish about what I said. I started wearing shorter shorts about 5 years ago, and it feels really weird to go back to longer shorts. Shorts are called "shorts" for a reason, don't knock short shorts until you try them. They are exponentially more comfortable than longer shorts.

Your sack hangs 5" longer than where the inseam of your shorts start? You may want to get that checked out.

Slight exaggeration, but you cant tell me that you wears these and honestly feel masculine. The "frat" shorts were never intended for men to wear and it's a travesty that theyve been introduced. I'd rather drink a beer with someone wearing cargo shorts past their knee than someone wearing 5" chino's.
