MIP is like a parking ticket. It can't hurt you unless you get like 10-15 of them.

Well that doesn't stink of corruption in the least.

Don't start there, offer to show him yours first. Then negotiate.

I'm sure your buddy's dad, the DA, is glad you're posting about him taking bribes. What parish btw?

Was hoping you got it in Ft. Walton Beach at a open house party and a MILF was arrested and it was going to be shown on Live PD this week.

Yea, considering you got it outside of bogies, everyone here knows who you are talking about if you are talking about THE DA. If his dad is an ADA then there's multiple

Not to mention that if your buddy goes by J. Mo he is not going to be happy about your putting his dad on blast here

Just pay the fine and be on your way. No one (job wise) cares about that.

$500 fee

Why would you pay $500 to avoid a $200 ticket?

Go to court, plead not guilty, talk to the actual DA while you are there, and explain that you are a college student. Say you want to pay the fine but keep the charge off your record.

Show up at next court date and plead guilty to a $200 seat belt ticket or some other non moving violation.

Learn lesson. Stop drinking in public.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I made the mistake of walking around with an open container while underage on my way to the bar. Undercover car pulled over and hand me the overpriced ticket. Not really educated with this process at all. My buddy's stepdad is a DA and says it'll cost me a $500 fee for him to see what he can work out. Should I just go to my court date and handle this myself or go with that route?
This happened to me when I was 18. Went alone. Got sentenced to 30 days in jail. Had to pay some lawyer in Tallahassee(friend of a police officer who my parents are friends with) to come get me out of that shite.

I walked up to the podium with him, he said about 15 words, judge said you're good to go, pay your court fees. Lawyer said I already had. He paid the $350 or whatever it was with the money I gave him and I never talked to him again.

Don't be a goddamn idiot like I was...take a lawyer.

ETA: Or pay the ticket if that's an option..? Why not just do that?

This is exactly how Aaron Hernandez started out--Urban never gave him the $500 back.

It's Louisiana. It's not a conflict it's an investment.

To the OP, how did they know it was alcoholic?
