Growing up in Louisiana, I drank in public often before the age of 21 so guess I was lucky. The only time that I recall being questioned about it was in my late 20s at an LSU game when an undercover officer ran up to me (near Mike's cage) and asked for ID. I was lucky again that my sarcastic comment of 'Really, y'all are cracking down on students drinking at an LSU game? I thought that was encouraged?' was only met with a chuckle.

Set up 5 Gopros and film yourself giving $500 to your buddy's dad. Thank him profusely for getting you out of the MIP.

Let him get rid of it, then offer to sell him the video evidence for $1000. Get pics of his naked wife from him. He will gladly pay so he can keep his law license and stay out of jail.

Find a lawyer that handles things in the court you are going to. Instruct him to get it dismissed . Tell him you are willing to pay up to 1000.00 in court costs, but you are not interested in pleading and getting it removed from your record. It never really gets removed. If they offer you diversion without having to plead then consider that.

Man I wouldn't do shite. Just stay off the radar and keep your nose clean for a few years. Then when someone finally brings it up or you get picked up on a bench warrant just say you forgot about it and say "Hey man, you really gonna hem me up for a crime I couldn't commit anymore even if I tried?"

Yea I received one my freshman year. Judge ordered me to do 16 hours community service, "alcohol awareness" class, and some probation fees but judge told me he'd wipe it off my record if I completed CS. I did, and he sure enough did. So I would just ride it out.

Dude, I don't know about Louisiana but in Georgia that is unethical as frick. My wife is a prosecutor and she would lose her job over something like that.

even better if you can somehow document that a prosecutor is accepting side payments to help defend/lessen the impact of your charge

Your buddy's step-dad is an a-hole. Back in the day, friends took care of this crap for free.

Dump the buddy after telling his step-father you reported him to the bar.

had an entire courtroom full of sons of my frat bros set free(charges dropped,) in a certain court near BR because the defendants, judge, ada, and defense attorney were all frat bros

Georgia should get with the times. In LA, that is just allowing someone else to pick up the bar tab.
