Too many dedicated funds in the constitution is the problem. They can't cut those because the people voted for them to be dedicated

But where was the current non-dedicated road money getting moved to if this passed?
exfrickingactly!
That's not how we should look at it according to some on this board

For better roads? Of course.
What promises have politicians made in the past that gives you confidence that they would use the money to fix roads?

As I stated, that was going to shift over to the other infrastructure needs.
And state police.
So the roads wouldn't be getting any new money (just different money) and the state troopers get more funding?
Sign my arse up!

Is this deaf services for cell phones or In general? Like paying some to show up at events and sign for them or text to speech on their iPhone? Seems like one tenth of a cent would have been sufficient. What are they going to do with all the other 4.4 cents?

What is the current 38.4 cents per gallon tax that we already pay on gasoline used for?
ETA: not to mention that we already have some of the highest sales taxes in the nation. Louisiana really needs to get its shite together. LC has one of the (if not the) highest sales tax in the country (10.75%!). Industry is booming. The city is growing like crazy. We have 3 big casinos and a race track sucking money out of Texas. Yet the parish and city govt is still complaining they don't have enough funds. Schools are overcrowded and new ones aren't being built. Wtf is all this money going?

The roads would be getting a lot more money.
Who taught you math?

I'd be willing to pay a higher gas tax even if only for the possibility of better infrastructure. There will be a huge federal infrastructure stimulus soon and we won't even have the funds to take advantage of it now.

Trump has on his agenda a federal gas tax hike.
And we will see almost none of that because we don't have the funds to meet the requirements.

They did this during the session. Funds can no longer be transferred to any other fund like in the past i.e. State Police

4.3 cents per month vs what is around 20 dollars per month for many people?

Louisiana public schools. They probably want more money too.

You apparently don't know how this state works. Projects approved 15 years ago will get the money even if not needed or logical.
We built a bridge that nobody needed and nobody used for half a Billion dollars when we had the money because it was approved first over much more needed projects.

Have some more evidence to back your claim: tax money goes to COA, they use it to send their employees on a cruise. By all means let's vote for more taxes.

Maybe you are just stupid so I will try this again.
4 CENTS = 4 pennies
20 dollars = 2000 pennies which in your infinite wisdom has a greater effect on the avg wallet in Louisiana.
240 dollars a year vs 52 pennies
Are you really comparing this?

No.
I was comparing who benefited.

This is just retarded.
What claim could this possibly back up?

Not that this state will go green any time soon, but what good is that tax with efficient/electric vehicles?
