Exactly what are you expecting Chevron corporate to do for you relative to an independently owned convenience store that sells their gas ? Try calling Coca-Cola corporate too -- they sell that there also .. Ever heard of parking at your own risk and not responsible for valuables left in your car ?

Glad the folks will now boycott LSU football since cars never get broken into in Orlando ..

It was written in bold black print on the carboard.

OP must not be big on reading disclaimers.

"Hey an independent station that sells your gas allowed us to park for $25. At the conclusion of the game our car was broken into. As it's your gas they were selling, I feel that you are liable for the damages to our car caused by people who broke into our vehicle at the gas station"

I can't even imagine making that call

I think he's confused about the relationship between energy companies and the stations that sell their gas

I mean, Highland and Roosevelt. That area, those people.....any reasonable person would have said, "Uh...yeah, no."

Roosevelt is one of the sketchiest looking streets in B.R.

I know the dude with the bunker and barbed wire on the right headed toward Nicholson.
His daughter was hot before she got heavy.

People at the Chevron who took your money and parked you were probably in on it and made you as marks from the jump and called whoever did it. That's why they weren't helpful. Sucks man, I seriously hate to hear that.

This^^^^^

Tyrone calls Leroy, who calls Shaniqua, who then calls Lamalangadindong, and they all pack in their caprice classic and wreck your weekend.

shite happens more than people realize.

Chevron is not in the fricking parking business dude. Chevron doesn't know these fricks are parking your car.

You claim to have went to LSU, and yet you didn't realize that Highland and Roosevelt was literally the worst place to park your car in BR last night? Probably would've been safer on Plank north of government lol

He had a better chance of keeping that stuff by leaving it all under a tent on the parade ground.

You maybe did everything that you weren't supposed to do as a traveler.

No sympathy.

No kidding. He could have parked in any of the neighborhoods on the lakes and he would still have his shite.

You really believed your car was safe there? You do realize what area it is in, right?

No offense, I am sorry for your loss, but anyone with half a brain would know better than to expect their car to be safe there.

One interesting angle though even though it won't get him shite back this time: does Chevron allow it's independent station owners to sell parking spots because of this very reason(liability)? For extreme example, say a local Chevron starts hosting oil wrestling matches in the parking lot. Chevron would have something to say about that as opposed to Rags example of Coca Cola products being sold. It is a Chevron Station at the end of the day.

Figuring out the thread was a troll was the easy part.

Figuring out the point has me pretty stumped, though.

I'll bet the Chevron Corporation has contractually specifically insulated itself from nuisance damages such as this with its suppliers and retail outlets. And their lawyers are smarter and better than most everybody else's.

There is little or no legal recourse for the OP.

He mentions the people at Chevron promising the car's security too .. I wonder if he was dumb enough to tell them he had valuables in the car ..
