I've probably asked. Thoughts on Benarus?
Particularly their GMT. World Diver GMT I believe. Cool look and cool blue accents on dial. Ships with several straps and bands. Movements are just a standard ETA, but still decent.
They just always intrigued me. And OP if you find a used one they MAY be on the high end of your range if second hand.

I like their stuff. They remind me of a company called Ocean7. Sort of a boutique type brand. But with decent quality.

I do like the sapphire crystal much better. Never see scratches. I had a sapphire put in my citizen eco-drive. Its always clean and clear.

OH.
I had a citizen eco drive i purchased 6 years ago that didnt have one. it cracked under the knawing of my dog. Got it replaced with sapphire.
Have you ever heard of or experienced anything with the Helgray watches??

From my experience... lot of watch companies advertise 'sapphire crystal' or 'super-hard crystal' watch faces, but many of those watches still got minute scratches with everyday wear. Despite the Mohs index rate sapphire as a 9.
However, the higher-end Swiss watches that I got (Rolex, TAG, Breitling, and Longines) manage to avoid getting scratched.
My watch-person said that not all 'sapphire crystal' are the same, and that there is a molecular binding process during manufacturing the sapphire that make them more scratch resistant by binding the surface of the crystal with lubricant so that scratchable objects will glide off the crystal instead of scratching...

A sapphire crystal doesn't stop scratches completely. And they have a thin film on them to stop glare. That gets scratched up a little too.

Well according to the Mohs index: sapphire crystal is rated at a 9 (diamond is 10); thus in theory, the only harder material the can scratch another softer material. So there are not a lot of everyday things that could scratch sapphire... in theory.

It's the thin film that gets scratched. That's what we are seeing when we see "scratches"

If you scratch sapphire Crystal, you hit the piss out of it. If it had been mineral it would have broken.
My Sinn is second hand. Has minute scratch. I don't know what that guy did. My Tag is brand new. I've knocked the shite out of it a couple times... Nothing.

On the helgray watch I posted they are adding the anti-reflective (AR) coating to the inside of the sapphire crystal so the film will not be scratched.

Good enough for military ops around the globe, in the air, under the water, in the sand, on a mountain, wherever.
Good enough for whatever you're doing around town.
And a lot cheaper.
I tossed one of my G-shocks up and crushed it with a baseball bat. Worked just fine. Never seen anyone willing to do that with a Seiko diver or Rolex.

Dude get a Stowa or an Archimede with an automatic ETA movement. Check out their websites for the different models.
