re: High Yield or Rewards Checking? - TexasTiger34
I don't have a better suggestion than the 0.75% that was previously suggested. However, I'm strongly against SG_Geaux's suggestion of putting all your savings in an investment account of 60/40 bonds/stocks. Your money is not "savings" any more, you're effectively reclassifying your money as "...

re: Do you pay multiple private school tuition? - TexasTiger34
At this point after having 2 threads lay it all out for this guy and him still not "get it" he's just proved how stubborn or completely ignorant he is. Knock off the "woe is me because i'm not white" bull shite and: -wake up -read financial success books -invest in your education -hang out wit...

re: How do some of you handle future expenses such as house down payment/wedding/etc - TexasTiger34
It is split right now. 60% bonds and 40% stocks. Earned 7.2% since Feb. Way better than it just sitting in the bank.
yea but you're kinda just justifying risk based on recent gains.. not the smartest thing in the world but you also never hear gamblers talking about losses, just wi...

re: How do some of you handle future expenses such as house down payment/wedding/etc - TexasTiger34
I opened a high interest checking and savings account. At the time it was 4% on up to 20k in the checking and 1% in the savings. It's since gone down to 2% now in checking I believe, but not too shabby for no risk (outside of someone stealing checks or debit info). Look for a bank with Kasasa...
Do I think realtors are worth 6%, no. But 3% and 4% is fair.
Just for clarification, i don't think the poster above wasn't saying one realtor is worth 6%. Fyi, and correct me if I'm wrong, but what what I've learned is that 6% is built into the price of the home: 3% for ...

I can't answer this question but what I can say while in the process of buying a house right now, I have lost what little faith I ever had in Realtors. Buying Realtors, Selling Realtors, both. They could frick up a wet dream if they wanted that's how terrible of an experience I've had so far. A mon...
