I just bought this, merely for running around town, golfing, fishing, etc., for the record.

My girlfriend is going to purchase me a casual, non-metal band watch for Christmas, I assume, as I have specifically asked for one. I need something a little less formal.

What brands have crummy leather straps? Also, what should I be aware of with regards to leather straps? Will they start to stink after too much use, assuming I sweat while wearing them?

Additionally, please rate the following watches, as they are all in her price range and meet my specifications (classic design, non-metal band, case size smaller than 40 mm, dates):
#1 - Skagen

#2 - Citizen I

#3 - Tissot

#4 - Seiko

Citizen II

I must say, I like the eco-drive movement of the Citizens opposed to quartz movements. I also like the Tissot, because of the quality of the product, and because it could also serve a dual purpose as a dressier, more formal watch. The Skagen is sleek and I think the contrasting brown and black looks nice. The Seiko I surprisingly like, and I can't really realize why.

I'd say the leader in the clubhouse is watch #5, the second citizen, as I like the way it looks and the eco-drive is really cool.

Thanks for all your help.

I didn't know people still wore watches.

I like the citizen.

I'm just now getting into them.

I don't like drawing attention to myself, as I'm not an OT poor/OT baller, yet I feel as if it is rude to constantly look at your phone for the time, and I feel these watches can accomplish that.

The faces are all really different. As for the band, you can always buy one (I´m still rocking a thick arse Hirsch on a very dear casual watch, that I´m pretty sure dates from the early 2000s).

My opinion, would simply be my opinion.

It seems like you´ve made up your mind, but again, don´t let the band they sell it with, sway you.

Possibly. That's why you wear a leather band in the fall/winter and a bracelet in the spring/summer. Out of the watches you posted I like the aesthetics of #1 the best.

My personal choice would be the second citizen, I say this as a Seiko fan but multi dials are not my thing.

Skagen makes nice looking watches but I don't like that you can't really change the bands

I'm not a watch guru. That being said, on looks alone, I'd choose Citizen II.

Aethetically redundant, if you have a phone, no?

Eco-drive is a quartz movement. It just has a solar face that keeps the battery charged.

They do have some nice looking watches though.
