OT Rowers, what's your go-to rowing machine for home use?

Concept 2 seems to be the gold standard, but the Water Rower looks good, too. There are cheaper models, but after reading some of the Amazon reviews, I'm wary of the durability of the less expensive ones.

C2. You can probably find them cheap on Craigslist or ebay used; all those former crossfitters.

Concept 2 and don't look back. Best purchase I've made for home fitness.

We love our water rower. It gets daily use from one of us.

Check out the rent to own program for the water tower. They will send you a used one that has been completely refurbished and has the newest monitor. You can then buy that one at a discount.

C2 or nothing. Don't get a water rower.

I've tried both and haven't been able to tell a real difference between the two in preference.

What makes you like the concept2 more?

I have the water rower. I love it. I like how it fits right into my den and doesn't look horrible.

No chance. You get a slight discount over new, but Model C's still go for $500 and D's go for $600+.

To OP I think you'd be fine with a C2 or a water rower. Both are good. The C2 Is more durable and easier to fix, but the water rower is still quality.

Closest thing to a rowing machine that I have is my couch.

I have 2 xebex rowers I think they are made in the same factory as the concept 2s. They are very very quality stuff.

C2 concept. Nothing compares. Only maintenance is to oil the chain after 60 hours of use and it's very easy to do.

I have the xebex, its essentially identical to the concept2 and comes out of houston from getrxd.

Honestly if you are gonna be inside doing this, get the water rower due to the noise. If its in the garage or you live by yourself get the concept2 or xebex.

And actually using both the xebex and concept 2 a ton, the xebex is a little more heavy duty but the screen and prograns on the concept 2 blow the xebex away.

This is the absolute gold standard as you stated.

In my searches which led me to the xebex I never found any price lower than msrp on the concepts. I'd just find someone who has free shipping bc they likely all have the same pricing
