Stewart shouldve been lower like the other passing cars. It's called a caution lap not a throw dirt on a wrecked car and driver lap.
Two hotheads met and both made stupid decisions. One paid with his life. You morons who think a world class driver didn't see a man by his wrecked car on a caution lap are lost souls and don't know Stewart's past. These cars have a direct drive drivetrain and he slid up as the driver walked down. Both lose.

Also, turning on a dirt track is not the same as turning regular race cars.
Stewart would have been in a power slide and the hitting the gas after a quick let up would be the appropriate action to try to avoid hitting someone high and outside.
So 'hitting the gas' isn't what you think it is in this situation.

It's well known that Tony Stewart is a jerk on the track. If he was "trying to teach the kid a lesson" and not kill him but it went horribly wrong he deserves some sort of punishment. What will hurt the most is loss of endorsement $$

This.
Stewart is a documented a-hole. That kid sure looked like an a-hole. Pissed that you wrecked in a dirt track race??
They wreck all the damned time. They get bumped all the damned time.

Well, Stewart is racing today....

Guy walks onto a track where RACE CARS are racing and there are 1000 things these drivers have to be aware of, PEDESTRIANS is and should not be one of those things!
Guy was stupid and he is dead because of his own BREACH OF PROTOCOLS AND RULES made by the governing body!
Has anyone brought this up?

You don't follow very close. Stewart isn't racing today.

Sad part is this incident won't stop him from being an idiot. He's fricked with people his entire career. Finally caught up to him
And there it is, the hatred for TS clouding your judgement. If you don't want to be objective why don't you just come out and say I hate the guy and no matter what I just saw it had to be TS's fault.

Had he stayed in the car he'd still been alive.
Had Stewart treated the caution lap and wrecked car/driver the right way he'd still be alive.
Harvick, both Buschs, Stewart and many more have walked out into the track a fricking lot.
Let Kyle Busch run over Junior and y'all necks will change your perspective.

The cnn story I watched 20 minutes ago said he was. They said it twice.
Maybe that has changed.

A track full of vehicles and he knows it was Stewart's car he heard accelerate? And was he drinking?
quote:
Would that not qualify as negligent homicide?
No, Stewart was on a race track, accelerating on a race track does not constitute negligence.
You have to prove the Tony Stewart intentionally drove toward that person.
The negligence falls on the victim that left the safety of his vehicle to play frogger on the track and run out into front of Stewart.

Was is the get out of your car and jump in front of other cars lap? I don't think so.
Some keep ignoring the fact the the driver chose to become a pedestrian on a race track. Not smart.

He is dead and should bear most of the blame, but the fact that a world class driver ran over him can't be ignored.
