had the Union left CSA alone that the South would have actually outlawed slavery before the north. Davis had already started getting the ball rolling to phase out slavery.
Where the frick do you delusional morons get this bullshite. Seriously how the frick do you come up with this retarded crap?
Let me quote the Confederate constitution.
Article I Section 9(4)
quote:
No bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law denying or impairing the right of property in negro slaves shall be passed.[14]
Let me break it down for you simpletons, the confederate constitution protected slavery forever and forbade laws to end slavery.
Goddamn who the frick taught yall history?
I swear it's like Southern whites just go on neo-Confederate website and buy wholesale their fricking history bull crap.

Do you think the North wasn't culpable at all? You don't think the North benefited from the slave trade at all? Hell man- the North was trading with the South DURING the Civil War. You think the South was growing all of that cotton for themselves??
Not every Northerner was a staunch abolitionist. Far from it.
The North was as racist as the South. For a quick example, look up the NYC draft riots of 1863.
I never said otherwise this is all completely true and I agree with all of your post. Northern bankers made lots of money on loans for Southerners to buy slaves. Insurance agencies in the north made a killing protecting the domestic slave trade. The steamboat industry was a $200 million industry around at 1860 and the north was manufacturing steamboats and northerners were working on steam boats to transport slaves and cotton. Furthermore you had tons of textile mills in the north manufacturing cotton. The northern economy benefited tremendously from southern plantation slavery.
Simply because I'm condemning the Confederacy and don't agree with this revisionist lost cause argument doesn't mean I don't understand that Northerners benefited from it as well . It's not as if Lincoln was some perfect saint who advocates negro equality. I understand all of this I'm not delusional who feels compelled to erase the complicity of the North and the faults of the Union. None of this makes slavery more acceptable or somehow less evil.
ETA: I'm sure all the people bashing me will conveniently ignore this post.

SLAVERY EXISTED IN THE NORTH FOR THE DURATION OF THE WAR AND AFTER.
No shite! Sherman didn't release his slaves until 1865....
But it was just the Confederacy that was racist....

Serious question- would you get upset if someone defaced the WW II monument dedicated to your grandfather?
What about if they wanted to dig him up along with his wife because they didn't like the side he fought for?

This I only eliminated the creation of a federal law abolishing it. States were perfectly within their right to do so. In fact most reputable historians agree that the South would have abolished slavery before the either Delaware of Maryland had they remained autonomous. Fact the South outlawed the importation of slaves from outside the country, the Union had no such clause. Don't be so dense, a Google search is all you need to see that these are FACTS. Slavery was a cruel institution that should have never been. Another point on all those racist Southerners, black confederate soldiers received the same pay as their white counterparts. Black union soldiers made 1/5 that of their counterparts.
