Criminal activity and intimidation to attempt to force political and social change? Isn't that called terrorism?

Ever heard of the Boston Tea Party? The Stamp Act Riots? The tarring and feathering of tax collectors? The time when Sons of Liberty threw bricks threw the Mass Givernors house?

Why is it when black people protest with civil disobedience suddenly they're thugs and criminals but when white people do it theyre goddamn heroic freedom fighters?

I think it's a great act of civil disobedience. Good for them.

There's nothing civil about peeling the flesh off your arm after tarring and feathering, that's the best case scenario. Worst is that you die.

So the next time a MLK statue gets defaced or a black leaders tomb desecrated, we can count on it just being "civil disobedience"?

How do not see how illogical this is? I don't get how people are saying this campaign is about erasing history. There needs to be more museums and memorials about slavery. We tend to study and celebrate the martial aspect of the war without looking at roots of it. We need more museums and monuments reminding people about the evils of slavery and oppression of blacks and less celebrating treacherous confederate generals trying to win a war to protect that evil institution.

Exactly the SoL were terrorists but we celebrate them.

And do you really put MLK statue in the same fricking boat as Confederate Memorials? What level of delusion do you have to have in order to make that work in your head ?

This grandstanding would really hit me in the feels if black people really cared about the lives that are taken by their own. The lose of the black lives that matter at the hands of other black folks are staggering. I really wish they mattered politically and socially. Then I would really be a supporter of their cause.

Because white people don't use it as an excuse to loot? Remember Ferguson and Baltimore where minority owned businesses suffered the greatest losses.

This is so fricking hilarious. There's hundreds of examples of that let's talk about the confederate riots of 1863 when a bunch of southern white women violently attacked and looted businesses.

You do realize that the secession of the southern states due to government overreach was just that, no? You also realize that these were American soldiers who didn't own slaves and had the Union left CSA alone that the South would have actually outlawed slavery before the north? Davis had already started getting the ball rolling to phase out slavery. Lincoln only outlawed slavery when word began spreading of the massive war crimes being conducted by Union soldiers by command of his generals. Comparing the acts being done in federal monuments in protest of a war that occured 150 years ago to the Boston Tea Party may be the most ignorant comparison I've ever seen on the OT.
