This kills me. The citizens of N.O. need to get more involved with bugging the shite out of their council members and the mayor to push this issue.
Idiots!

This NOLA City Council arguments are a fricking joke. They talk about safety and regulation. They can't see the forest for the trees. And Uber has NO response to their comments. DERP DERP DERP

I just saw this article…didn't realize the Mayor Landrieu commented on it:

LINK /

quote:

We're having the battle with Uber right now in the city of New Orleans. As we speak, our city council is being the host of the battle with the taxi cab industry. I think at the end of the day Uber is going to win. I think that their technology model is superior. I think their political skills need some work, if I might.

Uber CEO just needs to come to town and start handing out 100s to these politicians. frick it.

Yeah he hates the cabbies because they made his life hell the last 3 years. They are a bloodline to our city so they feel like they hold ALL the cards. I'm sure he fricking loves Uber. The power has shifted back to the city, thus more pockets being filled.

Most people dont hate cabbies. They hate cab companies and their entitled, outdated business model. Learn the difference.

political skills

Meaning uber needs to let the politicians know how they can put money in their own pockets. When this happens it will pass.

Agreed.

Scruffy is still pissed that the invention of the automobile shut down all of the horse and buggy related businesses.

And these damn computers destroyed the booming typewriter businesses too.

Innovation is a curse and should be destroyed.

Do yall really think a world wide company such as Uber is going to bribe politicians in a mid size American city such as NOLA. They would love to get in the market here but I doubt they will risk prosecution or the company name to bribe a council person in New Orleans.
