NO, make them go through a back ground check and let the rating system do the rest.

I am not understanding why they bought the cans if they weren't ready to implement the trucks.

Firing all the garbagemen first, then testing the trucks, would have been a recipe for disaster.

I also don't understand what they need to test about them, because they work everywhere else

NOLA's unique culture extends even to garbage pickup.

So, you would get rid of the requirements for all cab drivers/companies that operate in the city? Or are you just in favor of allowing Uber to skirt the laws?

I don't think there has been one person that is pro cabbies that has gone up with an IQ higher than most 4th graders I know!

FYI, if you know anything about IQ tests, you know that this isn't really much of an insult...

Fair enough. I'm all for competition but I do think all companies should be allowed to compete on a level playing field.

What is it

I love Uber and use it every time that I can. I would certainly call it a cab company.

There are some really inarticulate people on both sides of this debate

This is the first one I've watched. Has it been like this for every meeting?

Dude, this isn't really a debate about uber vs. cabs. It's about anti-regulation vs. regulation. In this case, regulation is hurting the consumer and protecting the business of cabs.
