Will do more harm than good. Cost and availability are the two biggest problems with cabs in New Orleans.

Somehow other, much larger cities with MUCH better transportation options (public and cabs) all have Uber. And it works as a cheaper, more efficient alternative to cabs. Not sure how anyone not personally invested in the cab industry would think it is bad for a city with as much tourism as New Orleans

I actually hope the city council defers the ride sharing ordinance a few more times. Watching the cab company owners, their lawyers, and the council members speak at these meetings is fantastic. The level of unintentional comedy is off the charts.
