I used to pass through Bernice, LA often when I lived NLA.

The Dollar Store that opened last year may be the only building not crumbling.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Its a South Alabama version of Altoona. They do have a pretty big bike rally there every year though.

For actual city and the fact it's a capital of a state, good god I feel sorry for Jackson.

Seriously residents should get sole sort of stipend for living there. A tax credit like Alaska or something.

You haven't been to Brownsville. Aside from Eastern Kentucky, I'd be shocked if there is a worse or more depressing town than that.
